I checked on the day it was announced about free cone day and happy to report Braehead Odeon is doing it. So mission tomorrow is queue up, get a cone, rejoin the queue, get a cone, rejoin the queue...

Nearly misread the last bit of your post elski....

Ben and Jerry's website has a store locator and non-participating locations seem to state just that under their address.

its on the middlingly sized screen 10 at the Wimbledon Odeon so I am going to give this a miss. The movie deserves bigger.

Just got back from not seeing this. Arrived early and still couldn't get in. There were an awful lot of others in the same predicament. Maybe I shouldn't have queued for ice cream but I don't think it would have made any difference.

Same here and I went to the film first though rather than the ice cream and it was well over-subscribed and they would not give us the option to see anything else as there were so many people they just took people's details to pass back to virgin and said virgin would contact us re more tickets :cross: we get something from them.

I cant believe for a blockbuster like this they allocated one of the smallest screens that holds 140 at most - no wonder it was over-subscribed as you are not likely to get many no shows for a film like this. Saying that my friend could not attend at last minute so his tickets were spare as he did not have a chance to cancel and my +1 and I know others who could not make it, but not sure if they cancelled. It makes you wonder if Virgin (and Sky as they are always using the same screen) actually know how many seats there are when they are giving out tickets. Imagine if everyone who had tickets actually turned up. This is a common problem with this cinema and over-subscription, its usually sky though and they usually let you see something else instead.

On a good point I did get 2 x B&J's as consoliation to make up for it :D

Hopefully this year we will get more free Manchester screenings :cross: as they are rare as hen's teeth nowadays :tears:
Hoping to beat my 2024 total of 32 :cross:
