Honestly, I quite liked it as well. I thought it was beautifully shot and it was almost the opposite of what I was expecting, but in a good way. Thought it was going to be just some trashy but upbeat type a la 'Sugar and Spice' but it really surprised me. My +1 and I enjoyed it quite a bit, as did a friend of mine who also happened to get tickets.

And Livi92...James Franco is American? He was doing a bit of a southern accent and coming from that part of America, I can tell you it was actually really accurate.

I actually thought James Franco was pretty good in the role (barely recognisable physically and the way he acted/sounded) but ye gods he was so unlikeable and the film such pointless rubbish that even that couldn't make it more enjoyable for me.

This was utter tripe; part MTV music video, part porno and part pretentious bullshit? It's taking over Die Hard 5 as worst film of the year for me and I slept through most of that! Wish I had followed my +1 out of the door within the first 15 minutes...

I totally agree with you lol but with all the beers we had we ended up laughting at the movie and singing along with the britney spears songs lol

Looks like I missed out on the chance of a free beer and snooze

I can't get it out of my head, it's just about the most perfect film I've seen since... maybe Drive? I've already b*ght tickets to see it again at midnight tonight. Even that might not be the last time I see it in cinemas. It feels like this film was tailor made for my sensibilities.

I've heard similar critiques from likeminded friends and I'm desperate to catch this one on the big screen.

Harmony Korine is one of the most interesting Auteurs working today and Gummo and Mister Lonely would make my top 50.

Really well-made film, stylishly shot and just pure fun. I saw this yesterday and i don't think I'll forget this any time soon, and for me, the scene with Britney Spears' 'Everytime' is one of the best of the year. 8/10

Ah I didn't realise he was American, I genuinely thought he was British, my mistake and now I thinking back, I guess his accent is very southern. I haven't had a chance to hear many Southern accents and most of the people I know from the State have a Northern accent which is probably why I thought it wasn't a great American accent.

Sorry I didn't get to meet you at the screening. I thought I recognised you, but the film had started when I spotted you and you'd left by the time we came out of the screening room :/
