Good in many respects...and somehow, for some reason beyond me, I didn't enjoy this at all. It just didn't click, but would be at a loss to suggest a solution.

4/10.

Saw this at West India Quay. Good to see Beate and cinefila1 tonight.

I really had no expectations for this melodrama. It was perfectly watchable and predictable. Yes, it was very emotionally manipulative but hey that is to be expected.

I wasn't expecting much but this was enjoyable and mildly entertaining. Wouldn't mind that house on the beach myself either.

Not quite the same sort of film as The Big Wedding, but I enjoyed it about as much. A bit meh, but not offensive - an okay film to watch after a bad day at work when I just didn't want to think too much.

Disagree with LCN re the death penalty. :p It's more - what did you say? I'm grossly paraphrasing now, but it's like The Big Wedding, 'a good film to snooze to'.
I enjoyed the ending much more than the ride. I liked the circular narrative with the Thanksgiving dinners. Although, tell me, is it normal sticking a can of beer in a turkey and loading it on a barbecue...? I know that wasn't the point, but I was watching, wondering if that's a thing people really do. After all - Bill? - and Sam? - couldn't bake cookies, so I wouldn't take advice from them on how to cook meat.
Back from Glasgow Cineworld. Surprisingly there weren't as many of the usual SKY punters there.

This was an above average film. Not the best but certainly not the worst. It had the feeling of Perks of A Wallflower (starring Logan Lerman in that too) and Crazy Stupid Love for me. I love the music that played and it went at a decent pace telling a decent story. Not sure who the target audience would be with this film though. 6/10

Yeah, I am obviously not well-versed in the American art of cooking a Thanksgiving Turkey but putting it over an open beer can did seem strange.

Apparently not that strange as you can get a beer-can turkey stand. http://bbq.about.com/od/turkey/a/aa111205a.htm and it helps steam the turkey or chicken to keep it tender and juicy.

I really enjoyed this. A perfect mix of modern day story with a bit of old fashioned romance and a bit of humour. You could see the end coming a mile off, but so good when it came. A nice feel-good film just when I needed it after a long hard day.
Nice having characters that you can relate to a feel for and that seem both real and interesting.

I want that beach house with the rooftop study!

Still slightly concerned about the seemingly increasing amount of glorification of drug-taking...even the mum saying "OK, as long as it's just pot" to her kid. Not a good message.

I loved the addition of Stepehen King too. Nice touch.

8/10 from me tonight.

Cineworld Unlimited is cheating! ;-)
