Re: The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
I found this pleasant, undemanding entertainment and certainly not tedious, though it did take its time and I began to wonder when Sean Penn would appear, as I was sure he would make an impression. To my surprise there was a spate of walk-outs well into the film - first one couple, then about 6 or 8 people all at once. I can hardly imagine they were offended so presumably the film wasn't what they expected, but what could they have had in mind? Interesting scenery a bonus. 7/10 from me.

This was better than I was expecting. Fairly descent story, descent action, some interesting scenery and a good soundtrack. 7/10

Re: The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
Having had no idea what the film was about - no prior reading & I didn't watch the trailer - I was pleasantly surprised.
I don't think I'd know how to describe it if someone asked me, but it was sad, funny & uplifting all rolled into a ball. It's definitely one of those films I'd have given a miss if not for these previews, but glad I watched it.

Re: The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
This is up in the running for my favourite film of 2013.
This was absolutely brilliant. I had no idea of the story or what to expect but this exceeded all expectations.
The cinematography and direction was immense. The colours just lept off the screen from Greenland and Iceland, just amazing and the clever use of the next frame framing part of the previous was a work of genius in my opinion. Ben Stlller did a great job in the lead role and in the dircetor's chair. So glad I had a choice of three screenings - I'll be back!

alythonian, I'm wondering whether I missed something, as I have no idea what you mean by this! Can you or someone else explain, please?alythonian wrote: the clever use of the next frame framing part of the previous was a work of genius in my opinion.

Re: The Secret Life of Walter Mitty
I enjoyed it- slightly disconcerting that despite some pointers you're never quite sure what is reality and what is fantasy, and I spent most of the movie expecting the ending to turn out the other way.
Really enjoyed it though.
We weren't let into the screen until 6:22, first they said waiting for security then they said last film hadn't finished.
Bit of a shambles but a good evening out.

Saw this film at Cheshire Oaks. Thought it was a generally a good/sweet film with a few funny scenes and liked the shots in greenland and iceland. I would probably see it again.
