Ok, this was my first film of the year and for that reason I'll give it only 9.5/10 (instead of 10/10). For me this ticked all the boxes, nothing that I would have liked differently

to a great start of 2014!

My first film of the year as well using a voucher that expired at the end of December. Great film and acting, especially from Jennifer Lawrence and Christian Bale, 9/10 from me

I was debating over seeing this film. However all these reviews make it sound fab. The trailer doesn't seem to do it justice. I'm looking forward to seeing this one now, thanks....might be my first film of 2014!

This was my first film of 2014 and what a treat it was. Sharp and clever, an intricate script, a great soundtrack, a cast on top form and some well delivered comedic touches. I doubt it will sweep the Oscars but the film certainly deserves recognition for its slick execution.
9/10.

My boss saws it yesterday and gives it a glowing review as well. I've just put on the soundtrack on Spotify and now I want to see it again! Already seen it twice...Definitely one to add to the DVD collection.

Again I'm in the minority but I couldn't stand this. It was far too long and I thought the hustle was pretty lame. I'm glad the rest of you enjoyed it but son and I felt we had wasted our vouchers on this.

As for funthing29, this was my first film of 2014 (and my first for 3 weeks, though I hope that didn't incline me to be too generous) and I thought it was mad, but a hoot. Hard to categorise (not that this is necessary, but just thinking how I'd describe it, genre-wise, if recommending it to someone) and yes, rather unnecessarily long, but fun. People were laughing out loud from quite early on at my screening and I loved the soundtrack, which took me down Memory Lane. Certainly an easy 8 for me; maybe slightly higher but hard to compare it with anything.

This was my first film of 2014, thoroughly enjoyed it & wow, what an amazing soundtrack!
A brilliantly enjoyable film from start to finish, it's started the bar high for 2014 for me

Clever, sassy and comedic. Brilliant turns from all of the main cast members although Jennifer Lawrence steals it - "Science oven" anyone?
Great start to 2014.
