It was ok, but no more than that. I'm fed up of movies with spangly cgi monsters.
It was a mash up of too many films on a Groundhog Day theme.

6/10 as it was slightly better than mediocre.

Edinburgh was full, but 4 people walked out. 2 after 10 mins.

The Times ads at the start were deafening in Edinburgh, people had their hands over their ears.
Yes I was surprised at people walking out so soon after the start. Times screenings have better behaved audiences - no late comers and no rustling crisp bags! The seat next to us was empty and the chap asked in a polite voice if he may sit there if it was not taken! Like it. o/

The film was better than I expected. 7/10

Quite enjoyed this - few plot holes etc but was pretty entertaining with a few funny moments.

Pretty full at Manchester Times+ screening but what an awful cinema old and run down.

I was going to say this was like Groundhog Day meets Alien meets Band of Brothers but I'll not bother now since I've pretty much been beaten to it.

I actually enjoyed this. I could see the device they were using virtually instantly and was so grateful that they started editing the sequences quickly. Otherwise this would have rapidly become boring. I liked the little pieces of humour too, but worried that it was going to become a comedy, complete with one-liners from Thomas.

Did anyone else notice how alike Tom was to Kevin Bacon in his uniform in the first few minutes? "Bacons - we have a problem".

I'd have preferred the Mimics to have moved less rapidly so as to appreciate the 3D more. The octopus-type ones especially became just a blur.

Loads better than Oblivion.

I dug it, and I instinctively hate Tom Cruise the same way as cats instinctively hate dogs. But this movie contains the single highest Cruise deaths per minute ratio in the history of cinema so I had a great time. Barely a scene goes by without Cruise being blown up, squashed, crippled, shot or impaled! Amazing production design on the robot suits too, very nice and clunky (though it is essentially the Aliens Power Loader).

Here's my review:

A pretty damn good blockbuster. Also saw it in Nottingham as I'm up here for work. So hello any Nottingham FMUKers!

Saw in Braehead tonight in company of ploggit, deb1, teddybear1 and karenlg123.
I enjoyed the film and the special effects. Yes, the themes used in the film have appeared in other films but they still made a very watchable film. Tom Cruise did look slightly odd in the first few scenes with his hair longer than usual and definitely blacker than usual!
I was impressed by the various very fast moving octopus like aliens as I found them very menacing due to the speed and unpredictable movements.
I wasn't sure of the film at the start of the first few repeats of the opening scenes but settled as they shortened the repeat sequenced.
Glad of getting the chance to see this free and on a cinema screen as I don't think TV screens will do it justice. My friend's husband had read the book and said that it had a different ending . . . I didn't ask how but may do the next time I see him.

There's a book? A series? Sequels....

Edge of the Day After Tomorrow?
Edge of A Week On Tuesday?

I did ask if there was more than one book and he said No but also said the book had a different title though I can't remember what he said it was called.

Its based on a Japeanese Sci Fi bok called All You Need Is Kill.

I loved the film, I have always liked films like this so right up my street, knew very little about the film except for the trailer I saw on Sunday. 8.5/10 for me. I also liked the 3D, though at times the background did seem a bit dark and blurry, but the aliens did make me jump more than once.
