Rhodri Meilir. I'm guessing it was dodgy sitcom My Family you probably saw him in.

As with others . . .I loved Pride! Well made, great music, good story and characters. Like Beate, I spent half the film wondering where I'd seen Mark before so thanks for the memory nudge, Beate! o/ I do remember the miners' strike tho not the GLSM. I suspect that the media of the 1980s was not as liberal as it is today! :p
I would happily watch this again and would not have grudged p*ying to see it. I may even use a voucher to see it again if no tickets appear for Glasgow on 9th September.
Marks 9/10
Preferred cinemas: Best: Glasgow Quay, Glasgow Braehead, Glasgow Renfield Street, Glasgow Fort & Paisley
Others I'd go to: Glasgow Showcase Baillieston

It amused me no end that the Sun hosted a screening of the film considering they were the newspaper responsible for the 'Pits and Perverts' headline.

Anyway I thought this was a perfectly entertaining film. Very funny and very moving with a great cast.
Shame Wandsworth seemed fairly empty (I was sat in a row on my own).

Sounds more like the Sun allocation to each location was a small number rather than oversubscribed.

Preference of cinemas:- 1. Glasgow Renfield Street Cineworld, 2. Glasgow Showcase, 3. Braehead Odeon, 4. Vue Fort, 5 Glasgow Springfield Quay, 5. any other cinema in Glasgow area including Hamilton
Also Falkirk, Dunfermline and Stirling but these are rarely used for free previews.

I think this would be unusual as most of the screenings are reasonably full.

I'm surprised that the sun offered these tickets, but less surprised that the newspaper featured in the film went unnamed...

"Nonetheless the strike rolled into it’s second year, sustained by immense levels of public support (regardless of what the tabloids wanted people to believe). The gutter Press, unsurprisingly, took its usual hysterical approach. Leading the charge, as always, was Rupert Murdoch’s rag The Sun, which summarised the alliance of miners and the LGBT community as “Pits and Perverts”!"

I'm glad somebody mentioned The Sun and the irony. I was thinking this all the way through the film
