I didn't enjoy this either. Overall a really bad film. I struggled to keep awake, it was so boring and long. The post credit scene was shown in bright lights, as Vue Islington tend to put the lights on during the credits for health and safety reasons, so we have been told, or was it because of the automatic timer switch. My plus one did not think much of it either. And Haley Joel Osment was just weird as a grown up and his character was just vile. 1/10 for some of the cameos. I have not seen the TV series, and have no wish to.

The only difference to the TV show is that they had a better location scout, would have made much more sense if the movie idea at the end was the one they were working on instead of Hyde.

I wasn't sold on these morally reprehensible guys and scenes/conversations custom made seemingly for 17 year old menchildren. Sure, the gags do flow, but they are gags I got bored of running around my head long before I turned 25. It picked up with the confrontation about an hour in, but its still a diluted comedy unless you are under 20. Grown men just don't talk or act like the characters here do.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?

kevinknapman wrote:In small doses the TV series was acceptable, but stretched to feature length, its flaws (unlikeable characters, rampant misogyny and 'hilarious' homophobia etc), become tiresome, occasionally toxic and harder to justify. Under the guise of satire it could have worked but writer/director Doug Ellin likes these clueless douchbags too much to offer any kind of critique of their behaviour.

The series suffered in the credibility stakes by expecting us to b*y Adrian Grenier as a bona fide movie star, talented enough to score the lead in a Martin Scorsese film. As if that wasn't laughable enough, the movie not only wants us to believe that Vincent Chase now wants to be a director but that his first movie, Hyde, is a masterpiece. The couple of minutes shown suggest anything but. .
I don't think I hated it quite as much, but I agree with a lot of the comments above. The gang aren't particularly likeable, but that would be fine if the film was funnier or had something to say about Hollywood and even though this is the world they live in the constant leering shots of semi and completely naked women seemed excessive.

I didn't think Vincent's movie Hyde looked too bad, as stylish blockbusters go, but all the talk of nominations and Golden Globes alongside the huge box office numbers was ridiculous 5/10

I thoroughly enjoyed this. Loved the cameos although I probably missed some and thought it quite funny too.

Seen this twice now and as a young person i found this a very enjoyable movie. Yes it its completely senseless with the characters not particularly likeable but for me it still made me laugh even without seeing the series. Jermey Piven had the standout preformance admittedly carring the film along with the soundtrack. 7/10

Finally saw this tonight . . .I've definitely seen better . . .but also seen worse!
I've never seen the TV show so was seeing the characters for the first time. I pretty quickly sussed out the relationships and could see how a TV series might work . . .but not for me. At times I thought I was watching a different film to other folk as many were laughing out loud!
I can see how fans of the TV show would enjoy this film and I suppose that's probably the target audience.
Glad it was free!

Loathed it so much I'm not even going to write a review! Bad script, bad acting, contrived plot.....0/10
