I enjoyed this tonight. I liked the squirrels on the tree wallpaper at the end aswell as the cut into books and the relation to the scissors.

I liked all the characters and the lads getting stoned.

The reference to university seemed very American.

Underwhelmed. Not the best teen-cancer-quirky-american-indyish-movie I have seen this year.

I have seen most of the films referenced in this movie (smug pat on the back for me), but I'd guess the majority of the audience won't have & the references would therefore be of little comedic value.

cancer / 10 (which equates to about 3/10)

Loved the movie apart from that tag, just don't see how that message was relevant to everything else. If anything

it could be a movie about hidden talent because nobody knew the main guy made movies but that ending just makes him extremely selfish because he never once asked about her? Would rather have seen an epilogue dealing with how him and earl moved forward with the mother as he'd earlier suggested that the loss would kill her.

I found this to be a bit slow, and was I the only one that thought....She is going to die at the end or what would be the point. Saying that I have seen worse films but certainly not in my top 100.

Not that funny or emotional until the last ten minutes which was nicely done.

And the lead was a bit annoying and his films looked pretty terrible. 5/10

Saw this last night wiv da students. I was so looking forward to it and so wanted to like it, but it just annoyed me...like a pesky bluebottle does.
I have to say that I thought the trailer was do much better than the actual film. Oh - saw the twist coming from way early on.

Cineworld Unlimited is cheating! ;-)

The cinematography in this movie is gorgeous, but I fear it will be overshadowed and forgotten come Oscar season. Quite a shame really.
