Outstanding, inspirational film. Much better than I expected it to be. First film for a long time to make me cry. 10/10

Very full screening at Islington!

Taron Egerton was unrecognisable, Hugh Jackman was effortlessly cool, and it tickled me pink to see the lovely Iris Berben play cougar Petra while still looking 20 years younger than she actually is (mid-sixties!). It's of course a highly edited story but this stubborn Brit who didn't seem to know what quitting is surely captured hearts by being such a cheerful underdog. "It's not the winning, it's the taking part that counts". Sure. Sometimes.

Saw this yesterday in Wimbledon Odeon. I really enjoyed this film about the underdog ultimately being successful, against all odds and against everyone’s expectations. Of course it was predictable, especially for those of us who remember Eddie the Eagle, but the film was done very sympathetically. It helped that Taron Egerton looked remarkably like Eddie, especially with his bottle-bottom glasses. He was completely hapless but never lost his enthusiasm. Hugh Jackman, in the stereotypical role of the alcoholic former champion ski-jumper, was excellent as his coach. A great feel-good movie that completely epitomises the Olympic creed: “The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle.” 10/10

Islington Vue was absolutely packed, and film started bang on time, even though a few people had just arrived and finding their seats.

Emotional and funny. Brilliantly told underdog story. Both Taron Egerton and Hugh Jackman were both excellent in their roles, and Eddie's parents are so lovingly portrayed. Such a feelgood film, I loved it. 9/10

Just saw Eddie in Croydon. Really enjoyed it. It was in turn funny and moving. A real feel good movie. Highly recommended. 8/10
