Saw this yesterday at the Piccadilly Vue. I enjoyed this film. It was a tale of two brothers, one a hard-nosed ex-con and the other a sensitive man, keen to do the best for his kids, who turn to bank-robbing in order to repay the loan on the ranch before the bank forecloses on it. The first part had many similarities to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid – whereby we were witnessing petty criminals rob small amounts from banks – and then it suddenly turned brutal and became shockingly serious – in order to remind us that robbing banks is never a joke. Chris Pine was excellent as Toby, the younger, sensitive brother but, for me, the real star of the show was Jeff Bridges as gravelly-voiced Marcus Hamilton, the bigoted soon-to-retire Texas Ranger. He had all the best lines and drew the most laughs for the audience – an absolute stellar performance. 8/10

Got there just intime at islington, great that the air con was on as it was 90% full.

Even tho it's not the same director as Sicario if felt like it was.

I know it's the same writer, but this film is as good as Sicario.

I hope this film does well as its one of the better ones I've seen this year.

An easy 8/10

I thought this was quite a good film but I didn't like at all the racist Native Indian jokes, it really wasn't necessary and didn't add anything to the film. 6/10

I thought the film draws you in slowly, but once hooked, very absorbing. The cast is brilliant, Chris Pine as the sensitive brother, and Ben Foster as the ex-con brother, has great chemistry. Jeff Bridges is great here too as the quite jaded Ranger, and has some great lines. Love his gravelly voice. The setting is really relatable and you can really sympathise with the path they chose to take, although reckless and dangerous. The film has you on your edge of your seat and does not hold back, as the tension builds up. The cinematography is amazing too. Really liked the soundtrack. 8/10

Lovely to see Beate, missgotty and elski, in a very packed Vue Islington. Not sure why the Times rep was checking every minute detail on your ticket, your name, ticket number, how many people, as well as checking on the guest list, and then deciding that your ticket was for two people, even though each person had their own ticket, and were not going in together. The lady in front kept saying her plus one had her own ticket and she was b*ying popcorn, but he ignored her and marked her ticket with 2 anyway. As he did mine, even though my second ticket was not here yet. Not sure what that was all about!

I thought it was really confusing to give us two separate tickets in the first place instead of one saying its for two people. And then he kept one and gave one back to us! What did he do with people who genuinely only had a ticket for one? I bet some people forgot to print out the second and thought the first would be enough, as they basically looked identical, apart from a tiny difference in the code number!

Eventbrite tickets are always like that. You get a separate ticket for each person, with a separate ticket number.

They obviously got confused with the booking system and reverted back to the old way for the next film.

Saw this today using Odeon Limitless card. I enjoyed the film although there were some odd holes in the plot. The plan was ingenious and worked well. I was a little surprised when someone said that the 2 men (wearing full ski masks) looked like brothers . . .they certainly didn't without the mask! Lol

Excellent film.

Has the same elegaic quality as The Last Picture Show with a touch of 70s films such as Thunderbolt and Lightfoot.

The cast are uniformly excellent - even down to the bit parts.

Well worth seeing.

Loved this one! Thought the acting was brilliant, thought it was a thoughtful and interesting film with a feel of reality to it. Can only recommend it.
