Re: The Losers
fair action flick, no brain required, fun but unfulfilling.
chances are it will be better than the A Team, mind!

Re: The Losers
Saw this for £2.60 at Vue. It was better than the trailer led me to believe.
Silly plot completely unbelievable. a mix of the A Team meets Mission Impossible!
Still, entertaining enough brain fodder.

I concurkevinknapman wrote:Saw this Friday night after a long week, so I was looking for something undemanding and I wasn't disappointed. Sometimes dumb and loud is exactly what you want and The Losers fits the bill perfectly. An enjoyable film with some decent set pieces and a likeable cast make the 97 mins pass by quickly and it never outstays its welcome. It's definitely a better film than I would expect from a director whose previous films include 'Stomp the Yard' and 'I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer'. And yes, Chris Evans is the definite stand out in a pretty good cast and I'm looking forward to seeing what he does in 'Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World'. The scene where he infiltrates a skyscraper to get an all important piece of computer evidence whilst singing along to Journey's 'Don't Stop Believin' was genius. Wasn't quite so sure about Jason Patric's rather dodgy sub-Bond villain. He has a couple of decent moments but also a fair few dodgy quirky comedy moments that undermine his character's evil sadistic nature. I'm still not entirely sure what his world domination plans were, but that vagueness is forgivable when the rest of it is so enjoyable. I also found the film's lack of blood a bit odd. I was wondering if the film was slightly compromised in the studio's desire to get that all important teen audience. I haven't read the original graphic novel but I would expect the violence is bit more explicit. I'm not complaining of course, the film is fine without it, but it just seemed a bit odd. Shame that this film seems destined (on the big screen at least) to be overshadowed by two bigger movies. Released on the same day as SATC 2 and a month before the similarly themed and bigger budgeted film 'The A-Team', it would be a shame if this is overlooked as a result. Although I expect it will find it's home on DVD and Blu-ray. Still if you like big dumb action movies, catch it on the big screen if you can.

Re: The Losers
Another Lovefilm reviewers screening. Might stick my name in, the last film they showed was excellent (The Secret in Their Eyes).

Re: The Losers
I have won tickets too, but to Made in Dagenham as well.... Argh. Film really doesn't look all that good, the imdb reviews are passable at best.
