Aha, so you're biased from the outset. I'm impervious to the charms of such spring chickens. I must find an old boiler to give me her opinion.

haha suppose a little yes, but I must admit I would like to see it as I did rather enjoy the book and would like to see the comparasions and whether Mr McC and Mr P do it justice.

Gosh, when there's a film based on a book I never seem to have read the book. Though maybe just as well, since those who've read a book are often disappointed by the adaptation.

Yeah I agree.... I did Silence of the Lambs book/film for a school English project and thought they were very different. The only one where I thought they did a good job was Memoirs of a Geisha.

I enjoyed the film, McConaghey is great, as are the whole cast, sans Philippe who seems more boring than menacing, but it's a nice mystery thriller drama, slowburner kind of film which has elements of TV mystery drama.
It's not amazing, it's a bit too slow and disjointed, especially when the tense thriller changes to detective mystery, but it's worth watching.
A 7/10.

A really solid and highly watchable legal thriller. It doesn't bring anything new to the genre but covers familiar ground with a considerable amount of style. An excellent script helps and is well served by a great cast. Matthew McConaughey hasn't been this good in ages and is a charming and likeable screen presence here. Some great character actors fill out the supporting cast. William H. Macy, Bob Gunton, John Leguizamo, Josh Lucas, Frances Fisher, Michael Pena and Bryan Cranston all do fine work.
I was even shocked to see Michael Pare in there. Having grown up watching films like The Philadelphia Experiment and Streets on Fire, it was quite a surprise. I haven't seen him in a film since The Virgin Suicides (a quick look at IMDB shows he's been in a lot of Uwe Boll films. The poor thing).
Well shot and with a decent soundtrack, The Lincoln Lawyer is well worth checking out. I hope this makes enough money to justify adapting the other books too. Who knows, if that happens we may even see a Harry Bosch movie at some point.
