Loved it, overlong, definitely drags in the beginning and the start of Act 3, but a gosh-darn hoot. Some exquisite action set-pieces, excellent comedy, Cruise on fine form, and thank goodness the emphasis lay within a crew like that, Patton, Renner and Pegg also pulling their weight well. IMAX was amazing an experience, Bird's live action debut certainly put him on the map in a big way.
You may look at my username and expect me to be predisposed to liking this film, and, well, shut up.

Saw this for the second time yesterday at Covent Garden. Not as full as you would have expected for such a blockbuster. Still great entertainment. Everyone played their part really well and there was excellent chemistry between all members of the team. Loved the comic moments between Pegg and Renner!

Saw this on Tuesday @ Reading Showcase, surprised the screening was only about 60% full.

I would say a good film, not fantastic. Typical Mission Impossible fare, great action scenes as you would expect, and some nice funny moments, backup up by soli plot.

I'd sum it up overall as good entertainment, if a little bit long.

It seems that I am the only person not to have rated this film!

Yes, there were exciting moments but that must be the most hole-filled script of all time. I actually like action films (a lot) and I expect to have to suspend disbelief, especially with regard to the physical parts but I do prefer it if the story hangs together just a little bit.

This film also seems to have severed any links left with the original concept. The action is not at all bad, but the plot stank and most of all it just wasn't 'Mission Impossible' as far as I am concerned; a Bond wannabe more like.

Back to the classic TV series for me.

that was AwesomE on the action side - I can still feel a massive chunk of Dubai right in front of me in IMAX! Unsettling.

Characterwise its a bit better than previous movies since its got Pegmeister, but the problem of the central hero being virtually characterless is still unresolved - Ethan remains a boring bastard when compared to Bourne or Bond.

I loved this film. I have to say it was one of the better ones. Ok was less action than normal but the humour for me was brilliant. Simon Pegg is a legend as far as I am concerned. My daughter and I were still laughing afterwards over the bit where he peers into the reflective mirror.

Can you believe also that old Tom does his own stunts. Blow that for a game of soldiers!!
