Re: J. Edgar
It wasn't *bad* per se. I thought that it was pretty interesting if just for the minor roles (Josh Lucas as Lindbergh! The guy from "Burn Notice" doing a good Kennedy clipped Yankee accent!) But there just didn't seem to be much of a narrative thread through it. It would have been much better if it had focused on one incident rather than trying to tie it all together fairly tentatively.

Re: J. Edgar
i really found this a pretty dull film, had high expectations but really let me down. just the pacing made me slog on and the story never really got going i thought. Would have been more interesteing if they had either focussed more on his personal life or more on his working life than trying this mixing of the two to not a great effect i thought anyways.

Re: J. Edgar
Edgar Hoover would make a great character driven movie, from what I saw in this movie he is an intriguing man. But picking De Caprio to play a complex character isnt a good start - hes improving but hes not that good an actor yet - and the movie was way to long for me to warrant staying over an hour for.
fav 5 films of the year - Tenet, Bill n Ted 3, Invisible Man, JoJo Rabbit, ?
