Oh and was I the only one thinking a better thing to do with the diamond, rather than throw it into the sea in a moment of corny sentimentality would have been to sell the diamond at auction and give the money to a life boat charity? I'm sure that's a much better way to honour the memory of Jack and all the victims!
I never thought she was honouring Jack by throwing the diamond in the ocean, but more that she wanted to give it to him. I agree it was a waste though, but eh she was 101 years old, maybe not all there anymore in her head :p

101 and no walking aids on a ship! I'll have what she was smoking lol.

mmm Jack was fictional anyway. you could write him escaping on a moped or a 99 ice cream if it takes your fancy.

The 3D effect did not add anything for me and made the film seem more unreal.

Did anyone else notice any changes to the original film (apart from 3D obviously)? I'm sure there had been some added scenes and some that I noticed had gone - unless I was just resting my eyes (lol!). One in particular was the famous scene on the prow of the ship where DiCrapio shouts "I'm king on the world!" I can't remember him saying that last night when he held her. Also was the musical score not more instrumental than I remember? I'm sure there used to be more singy bits like Ceelion Dion.
Maybe this was a "Director's Cut as well as a conversion to 3D.

He said the "I'm king of the world" bit at the beginning when he's standing there with Fabrizio.

Great. Now I'm really sad.
Go ahead, make my day - by visiting my blog: http://jacobthehobnob.wordpress.com/

Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2012" club. I saw 32, which is rather delightful.. I beat Mr. Glass on free films but he narrowly inched me out on total films seen.

Member number 33 of the "100 free films in 2011" club. I saw 20, interestingly enough. My more realistic target was to see more free films than TheyCallMeMrGlass. I lost.

The "King of the World" bit is way before Jack mets Rose. It was when he and his friend Fabrizio are at the bow quite close to the beginning of the journey and when the dolphins were swimming and jumping. Also Fabrizio says just before the "King of the World" line that he could see the Statue of Liberty even though it is very small.

Yes Jack had already someone before Rose to the bow of the ship.
