I liked Regina in the theatre production.

Doesn't look like there's a Regina in the film.

Isn't Tom a bit old to be playing Stacee Jaxx??

Wonder if this is going to be another scraping the bottom of the barrel movie

Regina is tied to the German storyline so no she's not in the film.

Stacee Jaxx is a different character in the film. Instead of a young arrogant singer who wants to go solo from his band, he looks like a seasoned old rocker.

I think from what I can make out from the trailer the plot has kind of been turned on it's head and rather Stacee Jaxx being brought in to play at the Bourbon Room to save the day, it's because he is playing there CZJ's is trying to get it closed down.....I think?

I'm still really looking forward to it.
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!

I think you're right, Rainey!

And despite what I am saying above I am really looking forward to the film as well. But I'm trying to see it as something completely separate from the stage show. I still love musical films and the music, so it should be good ::)

That can only be a positive thing, I found their portrayal slightly offensive.
I didn't love them but they were fairly important to the plot of the stage show. I guess in the film they're being replaced by Catherine Zeta Jones as the main antagonist?

I know :tears: They're the best thing about the show! The film also seems to focus heavily on Stacee Jaxx as he's portrayed by Tom Cruise, where the real main story should be on Drew and Sherrie.
I'm hoping the trailer is only Stacee Jaxx centric because Tom Cruise is a much bigger star than Diego Boneta and Julianne Hough. Adam Shankman did a good job with the Hairspray adaptation so I'm not overly worried.

I don't even know Diego and Julianne are. There again I'm old - I know all the others in the cast, luckily.

BTW we should be grateful there isn't a book as well 8O or is there?

Diego is an unknown actor so it's a big role for him.

Julianne was on the US reality show Dancing with the Stars as a professional dancer, and now has decided to pursue an acting career. She was in Burlesque and Footloose.

Diego at least looks like Drew ;) Julianne looks a tad old but I don't think she actually is so she could be alright.

When someone says there's a "book" they probably mean the script of the musical, as that's called a "book" in the theatre world.
