Well, on the positive front I thought the animation of the Ted character was fantastic -- very, very well done.
Also, the big 'fight scene' was well done - for me one of the best things in the film. I also enjoyed the 80's pop culture references.

As for the 'comedy' it was not really for me -- and I did not understand why the second half of the film turned into some sentimental TV movie type thing -- which felt worse than the puerile comedy!
The most amusing part of the whole thing to me was the repeated reference to Mark Walberg being 35 - when he clearly looked 45 at least -- now that was funny!
5/10

Saw this last night at Vue Islington, and actually really enjoyed it. I don't mind Family Guy, so the humour was just fine for me. It was nothing amazing, or one of the best films I have ever seen, but if you fancy a few jokes (in mainly bad taste) and some 80s cultural references then give it a go. Wahlberg is great in it. A pleasing 8/10.

Watched this with a group of friends at a packed Cheshire Oaks Vue last night.
The majority of people in the cinema were laughing throughout the movie.
My friends & I all loved it.
I would go as far as saying its one of the funniest films i have EVER seen !!!!
A strong 10/10 from us,will definitely be going to see it when it out.

Here's the reply I got from Odeon about the Ted screening at Greenwich:

Thank you for your e-mail. I am sorry that you found the film had started prior to your arrival at the cinema. The tickets always advise that guests arrive at 6pm for a 6:30pm showing, and normally this is a rule we would follow. However Ted is due to be a very popular release and we had a very large amount of guests turn up to the showing. As the screen was already full we started the performance because we could not fit any additional guests inside the auditorium. I am sorry that this was not explained more clearly to you at the time, and I will ensure that should this situation arise again then they are able to clarify to all guests what is happening.

Such an amazing movie! I laughed so much! Couldn't believe how good it was! Best laugh I've had in a long time! The entire theatre were laughing too which is always nice. Sounds like some cinemas were full. Hope people have been able to get some tickets for next weeks showing

Ted is more popular than The Dark Knight Rises?

I'm genuinely starting to believe now that Warner Bros only allocated a minute number of tickets for the TDKR screenings - clearly not the full theater capacity. That's the only possible explanation for the vast number of empty seats in all the locations.

Yes, though my first thought was the opposite, i.e. a lot of tickets had changed hands and the new holders were worried about not having ID in the original name so didn't risk it.
