Something different tomorrow afternoon:
Not By Bread Alone
MATINEE of this astonishing performance

Eleven deafblind actors, eleven stories, one theatrical experience you will never forget.

artsdepot is delighted to welcome Israel?s celebrated Nalaga?at Company as part of LIFT 2010, a London-wide festival of international theatre.

Enter a space where your senses are elevated, the smell of baking bread fills the room and the tip-tap of a typewriter resonates from the corner of the stage. While the bread is kneaded, risen and baked on stage, the actors share their dreams and desires. Bittersweet and uplifting, these stories will captivate, delight and surprise you.

Imagine a performance that has been two years in the making; where the actors have first learned to communicate with each other and then with an audience.

This is a unique opportunity to experience a powerful performance delivered by an entirely deafblind cast, which by its very nature provokes and inspires your senses.

Directed by Adina Tal

The Nalaga?at Centre is the only place of its kind in the world: alongside its deafblind theatre ensemble, it houses eating and drinking establishments which offer an unforgettable experience for diners.

Now in London for the first time, Nalaga?at recreate their Café Kapish and BlackOut Bar at artsdepot alongside performances of Not By Bread Alone.

Also at artsdepot, in conjunction with SENSE, The Apthorp Gallery will feature work by deafblind artists in a free to enter tactile exhibition, Touching Art.
