9/10 o/

Quite entertaining and enjoyable. Some moments/pieces of music were just too cheesy for my liking though hence the less than perfect score.

Can't wait for the next installment.

We were searched, scanned etc but I doubt the scanners worked, since nothing in my pockets set them off and I definitely heard someone's mobile vibrating during the film

(Personal gripe: Why make us move seats for latecomers?....we didn't turn up that early just for the fun of it....we have a preference so we arrive early to try to get our preferred seats....if 5 people turn up late then should sit wherever they can not have the ushers make everyone move in order to accommodate them. :nono: )

Some good moments, sure, but for a 2 and 1/4 hour film, there didn't seem to offer much in terms of iconic moments, or completed storylines. Even Ben and May's basement was left flooding for goodness sake.

Saw this in the biggest screen in Cineworld, Glasgow. Absolutely packed. Still managing to squeeze people right up until 7.10pm. Found the live link red carpet screening a waste of time. Local radio dj was passing through the crowd chatting to folk so they cut sound from London every so often. Of course she picked me out for interview!
Now to the film . . . very entertaining! I do find 3D a pain as I dont see in 3D and find wearing dark glasses spoils the bright colours of film. Liked the story and they managed to give a new slant on the previous films. Acting was at a high standard and casting was spot on.
Looks good for another film!
Pleased to take ploggit as my +1 as let down by usual person on Sat.

Marks 9.5/10.
Preferred cinemas: Best: Glasgow Quay, Glasgow Braehead, Glasgow Renfield Street, Glasgow Fort & Paisley
Others I'd go to: Glasgow Showcase Baillieston

Ok, so I'm in the minority again eh? Even EthanRunt liked this, hehe??? :)

For me this was DAMN disappointing. It's the same friggin story told in a slightly different manner.
Straightforward and predictable with one of the most dire James Horner soundtracks to boot.

The pro's: Andrew Garfield was good, probably a little more faithful to the character than Tobey McGuire but he came dangerously close to appearing arrogant in some scenes. The special effects were amazing, the stunts were wonderful and I loved Stan Lee's cameo.

The cons: The lizard sucked. The one thing I absolutely hated about the 2002 version was how camp The Goblin was, with Willem Dafoe's miserable soliloquy sticking out. Well what do you know? The lizard has the very same scene! Shorter yes, but still the same. The trailer & The Untold Story gave away far too much, which turned the key set pieces into a waiting game for me. Also, as much as I loved "(500) Days of Summer", I found the romance element between Parker and Stacy highly unconvincing (even if the stars are dating in real life). Also how many times did Parker have to accidentally ruin something with his powers without provoking any kind of suspicion that he might be Spider-Man?

Overall, I think I might have enjoyed this one had I not seen the 2002 version first. Given my unrealistic expectations of this movie and my everlasting love for the character, this was never going to be the movie I wanted it to be, but a little originality would have gone a long way.

This ain't no Avengers, that's for damn sure.

Oh yeah, I can't fault the 3D but the footage they showed us at The Untold Story in the Leicester Square VUE was just SOOO much more immersive. This was OK, but I found it more distracting than anything. Either the Sky Superscreen is too large for 3D features, the projector needs to be re-calibrated or there's just too much lighting in the theatre.

I thought this was excellent fun. I liked the Raimi version without being a huge fan, but still thought it was odd to reboot it so soon, but taken it isolation this is a top quality superhero movie.

All the cast were good and there were plenty of laughs and a few emotional moments in amongst the thrills and spills. The only clunky moment for me was
When Gwen said at the end that her dad had made Peter promise to stay away, it just seemed a bit heavy handed
Finally if you think the red carpet footage was dull at your screening try watching it with no sound like we did in Manchester, what was the point?
