Obviously has not rained yet in your part of the country, Steve. In Central London it is just like another cold, wet day. I bet the gritters were pleased, not to have another day of gritting snow.

We've just had a fire evacuation test, got stuck standing in the pouring rain cause I forgot to take my umbrella out with me!! so we went to sit in a cafe until we were allowed back in the building, definitely made the morning pass quicker o/

Haha I love fire tests, they really break up the routine and it's fun to sit in a cafe with your colleagues for a while :-)

So upset that the snow is melting. It was so beautiful yesterday (even more so because I didn't go into work) and now it is grey and wet and slushy out there!

Gritters? What gritters? I've not seen any or seen any evidence of any. Probably took a snow day(!).

Well I'm jolly glad the snow is going/has gone. Today is the first time in 11 days that I've been able to use my car, and in the interim I have spent so much time and money on public transport instead and missed out on umpteen other activities (film previews, plays, walks, even my hair appointment) and I want my life back!

How come you couldn't use your car Ms Thrifty?

Snowed in I expect? Or the roads too treacherous?

Yes, a bit of both. Once the main roads eventually cleared, the side roads were still very snowy and treacherous and I wasn't prepared to risk an accident trying to negotiate them to reach the main road. The forecaster this morning was saying there may be more snow later this month - I do hope not!

I drove my car a few times. Once you got out of the close it was alright.

But yeah the small roads were ice rinks!

No snow left now, just a few bits.
