Arrived just after Biggins and as we'd seen the American asked if we could see Harry Potter instead which they happily agreed to. Well done Vue

Hope Momentum reschedule

Woke up this morning to a blizzard - after all the shovelling-neighbourly-camaraderie of the past few weeks and the welcome thaw it was back to square one.

Suffice to say a trip to the Vue at Greenside was a no-no. It's not so much getting there, but getting back (Edinburgh is llike a min San Francisco hill-wise).

Here's hoping they reschedule.

Went to Westfield to watch this. Didn't know what to expect (I didn't like to read review or watch trailer prior going to cinema). I thought it's going to be just a boring historical drama. but surprisingly I loved it. This movie is full of emotion of someone so superior and big can feel so hopeless and small
due to his disabilities
. Collin really captured the character and I think it's an oscar worthy performance. Helena BC was really sweet and supportive which is refreshing cause she usually played the antagonist (watched HP:Order of Phoenix just now! ;) ). However,Guy P looked too young to be Firth big brother (I just found out in wiki he is 7 YO younger, so, the make up .... FAIL???) and that's the only unrealistic part of the movie. Geoffrey Rush is brilliant as ever, perhaps an oscar performance too? But my all time fav is always him as Capt Barbossa :D

this is an easy 9/10 from me o/

Saw this at Westfield today as well. Unfortunately, the film began 20 minutes late, but better late than never. I wasn't sure if this would really be my type of film, but I absolutely loved it. Colin Firth was simply amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed everythin about his performance. Geoffrey Rush was brilliant as well. This was a true pleasure to watch. The framing of the shots was really well done and it all looked perfect. Loved this. 9.5/10

Colin Firth was very good, but it was very uncomfortable to watch him stammer.
I really liked Helena Bonham Carter's understated performance, but I am worry it's the kind of performance people might overlook during the awards season

Sent an email to the manager of the Odeon at Westerhailes complaining that the girl who took my email address said someone would be in touch and have heard nothing. I only got offered "Due Date" that night but MM got two free tickets. He replied immediately with an apology and asked for my home address and he will send two complimentary tickets in the post for me to use. o/

This means I can see The Kings Speech sometime in the next couple of weeks without having to p*y for it as he said they are not having a rescheduled free screening for it at his cinema.

Well done biggins! Just goes to show what a letter of complaint can do. And nice that you can use the tickets for something you really want to see.

The way I am reading it the comp I just posted for tickets to King's Speech is they have 10 pairs of tickets available to a private screening, rather than a completely private screening for 1 person and 19 other friends...?
