Over 100 musicians and dancers from 13 different Turkic nations will be uniting in London for an epic, colourful and dynamic debut concert of Nevruz presented by TURKSOY, an international organisation exploring, promoting and transmitting Turkic culture. Nevruz is a spring spectacular for all the family with music, song, dance and amazing costumes from all over Central Asia.

From the Mediterranean to the Siberian Sea, many countries and communities celebrate Nevruz (New Year or Spring Festival). According to the old Persian calendar, it’s the first day of the year and regarded as the start of spring, when the sun enters the house of Aries. Performers will represent the many countries of Central Asia. Be captivated by a colourful and dynamic show with over 100 dancers, singers, musicians and magnificent costumes from all over Central Asia and experience the magic and fire of Nevruz. Be enchanted by princesses in glittering dresses of bygone days, feel the energy of massed percussionists in perfect rhythm, dream with the magic of the haunting ney flute and kemence fiddle, and see scores of traditional dances from Cossak-style high kicks and courtly serenades to raucous folk dances.

This is an evening of FUN and magic for all the family, a unique chance to embark on a cultural journey and to feel the magic of the orient.

About the show:

Winners of Hackney Empire New Act of the Year 2010. Abandoman create hilarious musical sketches at lightning speed live in front of their audience. No two gigs are ever the same. The project sees frontman Rob and multi-instrumentalist James Hancox reinventing hip hop in a way that appeals to even its most ardent detractors.

The group have already supported diverse acts such as Tommy Tiernan and US hip hop band, Atmosphere, and have played festivals such as Bestival on the Isle of White and Truck Festival in Oxford and a wide variety of venues and nights from comedy clubs like Tattershall Castle to music venues such as La Scala in London. In January 2010, Rob and James began a weekly residency with BBC6, providing comedic songs to the Chris Hawkins Breakfast Show.

This Knock2bag comedy night features Abandoman with support from Aisling Bea, Will Franken and many more...

Terence Rattigan’s compelling drama The Winslow Boy comes to The Old Vic stage following the success of Cause Célèbre.
Driven by a passionate belief in justice whatever the personal cost, Arthur Winslow sets out to prove his son’s innocence when he is accused of theft. This moving story pits the rights of the individual against the will of the state. A fight for truth, played out under the media spotlight, tests one family to its very limit.

Terence Rattigan is one of England’s greatest playwrights. His many plays include French Without Tears, After the Dance, Flare Path, The Browning Version, The Deep Blue Sea, Man and Boy and Cause Célèbre.

We're teaming up with our friends at Penguin to celebrate a twin hulled launch (a narrative catamaran, if you will), as MOHSIN HAMID cracks the bottle on his new book, 'How To Get Filthy Rich In Rising Asia', and anticipates the release of the film version of his novel, 'The Reluctant Fundamentalist'. Joining him on stage is the multi-talented actor and musician (and star of the movie), RIZ MC; poet ROSS SUTHERLAND, floppy of hair and sharp of tongue; and the haunting musical talent that is NADINE SHAH. All will be hosted by our old mucker - poet, DJ and long distance runner, CHARLIE DARK: a man who puts the 'urban' into 'urbane'.
