Good move with the popcorn replacement. Dont forget fruits have sugar too so keep that in moderation too but it is natural, so well donehavingascreen wrote:munched on pinapple while at the cinema today instead of popcorn..........felt sooooooo healthy. Not sure what you were thinking with the McDonalds and chips...worse fast food option

Re: Weight Watchers
I'm afraid its a very popular but wrong perception that eating plenty of fruits daily is healthy. Its not. Each type of fruit do contain essential vitamins and minerals that our body needs...but so do vegetables. Fruits contain a lot of calories, vegetable are virtually zero or close to it. Variety of vegetables of different colours is the key to a healthy diet giving you the essential minerals and vitamins. Have just 1 fruit a day and take multivitamins every morning.havingascreen wrote:TheyCallMeMrGlass wrote:Good move with the popcorn replacement. Nice to have your good knowledgeable infulence back Mr Glass. McDonald slips were due to convenience and hunger pangs. I've been eating lots of fruit salads but not giving much thought to the sugar content, isn't it healthy sugar or should i be choosing the fruit depending on the sugar content?
Thanks for your kind offer to sponser me, I've not organised my page yet but when i have i'll post the link hereI'm walking on June 19th. Had a lovely walk along the River Esk in Musselburgh right along to the sea this weekend
I know we crave for sugary stuff but you crave it because its a form of addiction (sounds a bit extreme putting it that way but it is so in a way. To stop this "addiction" , you need to drink plenty of water and tea (the herbal type, my favourite is peppermint and green teas). Also, do not ever go too long without food. When you do, the brain automatically switches your craving for sugary stuff for that "quick fix". Try to split your meals into 5 a day with 3 hours gap in between each. This will also help reduce your cravings for sugary food. Treat yourself on a Saturday or Sunday but for the rest of the week, keep it healthy all the way :)

Aruif, you can still do it on your own, you have us fmukers to cheer you on, not to mention your friends and family! You can jog some of the way and walk the rest to catch your breath. I run on my own most of the time but although most of my running events were with my running buddies, we dont run together anyway because we run at different speeds. I was going to do the Paris Marathon all on my own if wasnt for my ridiculously stupid mishap!
Do you have and iphone or Android phone by any chance? I ask because there is brilliant free app called Runkeeper for it which we can all track you live on the internet while you do the Walk for Life :) So you wont be alone at all! And you all know me, I dont want to see you just walk, I want to see you jog and walk
So go on, have a rethink, if you do enter it, I will sponsor you too as well as the others doing it
Also, do you know of the parkrun in Bushey Park? its a 5km run that has 700 particpants, every Saturday 9am in the morning. You can jog and walk it. Your times are recorded on the website. Its free, and its a brilliant way to start the weekend amongst a great crowd of runners/joggers of all standards from kids to elderlies. I was a regular then stopped during the winter and now will start going regular again. I love coming to Kingston every weekend even though I have to catch 3 trains from Peckham to get there but its worth it. I play cricket on many Sundays there too.
What is the Kingston Walk, is it along the river? Is it a weekly thing?
