Mate that is a rip off. I p*y £60 for a membership which enables me to go to any FF gym world wide. I would have thought a membership, student membership outside of London would be a lot cheaper. its so annoying that you can't get a straight answer as to how much it costs. How much can they get you for more like it

Fusion leisure centres in Southwark, my London brorough, do £20 concessions including students. Its not Fitness First but the gym equipment is the latest tech with ipod plug sockets and video screens. Sorry to hear you have to p*y so much...damn.
Well since you p*ying so much for it, make sure you USE the trainers good and get them to do a progressive program for you every 4 weeks, check their qualifications and pick the ones that are Level 3 rather than level 2. And keep asking them to show you proper techniques with free weights. Use them good and proper like you would a boyfriend!!

, especially for a student. Pure gyms has just opened up down the road from me for only 12.99 per month and that includes classes.
I'm going to try taking the stairs more often Mr Glass. My company has just opened up a meeting space/I T suite on the second floor so instead of taking the lift i'll take the stairs. I have seen the GP about my knees but not my hips and he sent me to the physio. I've stopped crossing my legs which has helped but i didn't think the squats he showed me were helping any so stopped them. I've got back into yoga recently which has helped my flexibility but i have to bend my knees for a lot of the postures. I have been eating a lots of spinach, rocket and watercress but dairy doesn't agree with me.
Need to get regular with the walking but the weather up here has been so windy and rainy so not encouraged me, however off to the great outdoors and taking my walking shoes (incidently very heavy) with me. Can't wait to get a bit of really fresh country air

.
That's great, HaS, and stairs are perfect progression too (I should have mentioned that, tut tut to me). As dairy doesnt go well with you, then you must have brocolli, cabbage and other foods with calcium. I am afraid it appears spinach, rocket and watercress have no calcium or at least harldy enough. I think this lack of calcium might be the reason you have weakened bones. Here is an NHS link that lists all the foods rich in calcium. It also include fish bones (sardines and pilchards) which I never thought of before...but thinking about it now, its so obvious!! Vitamin D is also essential for your bones (acts as a regulator of calcium) and you can get that from oily fish. I am not mentioning fruits because there is a tendency for everyone to each too much fruits and as I said in earlier posts, fruits have a lot of sugar.

Thanks funthing, have got that email sent away........i have incorporated more oily fish into my diet and now eat one portion of mackrel and sardines per week.
Mr Glass, i appreciate your knowledge about fruit and i've now cut my intake down to one banana and one orange per day. I've upped my salad intake by adding carrot and pepper. Have already noticed that my gums are stronger. They used to bleed all the time and they haven't for around one month now.....must have been something i ate

Awesome

but do vary it a bit more dont just stick to one type all the time. Also, I strongly advise taking a quality daily multivitamin supplement.
Hey Funthing, thanks for the tip off, I did the same :)

I've never heard of it but omitting any food groups is a no no!
On another note re eating too much fruit and the dental aspect, its reknowned for damaging tooth enamel. I eat beetroot instead of an extra portion of fruit to satisfy my sweet tooth as The Wise One has already reminded us girls re too much fruit as most of us would choose fruit over veg; I'm loving vegetable chillies at the moment they are so filling and yummy.

Sweet potatoes, turnips, onions, kidney beans, peppers, tinned tomatoes, fresh garlic and loads of chillies its heaven - you don't even need any extra carbs with it but if you're really hungry rice or crusty bread (with loads of butter - I can't do a spoiler but please hide this from MrGlass

)
