Wow, went to see Carnage tonight and what a gimmicky film/play. I've never read, seen the play but I certainly wasn't expecting this. On the gimmick scale, we are talking on a par with Buried. Okay maybe I am totalling missing the point, as the acting fireworks are tremendous, the dialogue is mostly razor sharp, but even the most ardent lover would wish Kate and Christoph had made it out of Jodie and John's living room (for good)!
It's brilliant seeing the 4 great actors at work, but I very much doubt this is a film that will generate acting award wins. There is something not flowing about this play/film, but it's always extremely enjoyable to watch Kate and Jodie give an acting masterclass. I am being generous but it's 8/10

I really enjoyed Carnage tonight (except for the vomiting scene!), all four actors did really well and the audience seemed to love the film judging from all the laughter. Quite a short film, hour and 20mins or so. I've never read/seen the play so wonder how it compares to the film... I'll go with a decent 8/10.

The person behind was laughing the loudest, but the person on my other side was snoring, so it's going to be that kind of a film

I was surprised nobody showed up to present the movie tonight, it would have been interesting to have a Q&A at the end.

I did not see the play either, but I thought the acting was top notch, especially from the two ladies. I cannot see it doing great during the awards season though also for "political reasons" i.e. Polanski's issue with the US justice. 8/10 for me as well.

We're going to see Carnage tomorrow at 12.15pm, courtesy of my friend who is dashing over to a press screening of The Ides of March. Told her about the Sunday screening but it would cut it fine for her flight home. Such a shame.

It might well be that the competion posted by a_person is a giveaway on who will be there tonight for The Ides of March

I had a remote hope Ryan Gosling could come well , but really glad Philip Seymour Hoffman will be as he's one of my favourite actors and it will be nice also to see the very eclectic Evan Rachel Woods

Carnage is excellent. Top-notch acting from Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet, Christoph Waltz and John C. Reilly, and it's very funny. I loved it as God of Carnage with Ralph Fiennes and Tamsin Greig but this is even better. The actors are all fantastic in their roles, it's such a great study of 2 couples trying to be polite and civilised over what one of their kids has done to the other, and in the space of 80 minutes, it's all falling apart, while the kids have long since made up and are playing together again.

I had the world's most annoying loud laughers behind me though. And for a supposedly sold out screening I was surprised to find an empty seat in front and one next to me. People who b*ght tickets can't even be bothered to give them back, that's shocking. My friend sold her Carnage ticket to the first person in the returns queue, who was very happy about it. She is at the moment in the presence of George Clooney at a press screening, jammy sod.
