I saw it before reading any reviews, and it's quite hilarious reading just how much people hate it. I liked the Guardian reviewer's desire to see the New York ball land on Gerry Marshall's head. Ouch!
I'd never heard of this stupid ball, and I wonder whether it's partly a cultural thing that the Brits don't care about the silly ball. It's fun imagining a British version of New Year's Eve - what if the chimes broke on Big Ben and they had to fix it before riots broke out.
I was really aware of the product placement too, which was anything but subliminal for me. It made it all feel the more calculated, along with the constant procession of familiar and expensive faces (though I didn't know who Zac Efron was until the end!).
Let's look forward to another one for Mother's Day!

A friend of mine actually legitimately wants to see this, so I suppose I'll go along with her. I am a little curious as to how bad it is. I didn't like Valentine's Day, but I didn't actively loathe it either, so I can't really predict my reaction.

I'd seen this movie and thought that it wasn't as bad as all those reviews out there. I'd actually enjoyed it. Only to find out later who's Zac Efron was afterward. (He'd all grown-up!)

Ah! I was just coming here to post this! I've come to the conclusion that bad films are manna to the critic as they can really let rip and produce some hilariously entertaining piece in which the film gets ripped to shreds. Brilliant.

Just caught this tonight by virtue of a soon-to-expire voucher and having seen all else there was to offer (I'm seeing my beloved Drive for the 4th time tomorrow!).
It seemed to go on forever. It really felt like the 6 hours from 6pm on 31st until the bells at midnight...in real time - every long minute.
I found a lot of the characters very samey and hard to tell apart. Just as well you could identify by what they were wearing.
I never realised Zac Eprom was who he was. Gutted not to spot Ferris Bueller either even though that is one of all time faves.

All I can say about this movie is that it is totally inoffensive and tame. Light and fluffy with no surprises. I don't think I could watch it again. Ever. Once was more than enough.

I was totally underwhelmed by the out-takes. Were they meant to be funny? I've seen better.
