Re: Music Concerts/Gigs
I went to see Brandon Flowers (The Killers frontman) last night at the 02 Academy Liverpool. What an amazing gig! He was brilliant, it was great to see a showman of his quality in such a small venue (capacity 1000). Somehow I found myself 6 rows from the front :)
The majority of his set was taken from his new solo release 'Flamingo' but he also performed acoustic versions of 2 Killers songs ' Losing Touch' and 'When you were young'. He did an excellent cover of Kim Carne's 'Bette Davis Eyes' too. Really suited his voice.
He looked as though he was really enjoying himself, the crowd certainly was. I've got a sore throat today from all that singing!

Re: Music Concerts/Gigs
I went to see Matt Goss (formerly of Bros) at the Royal Albert Hall last night. He was fantastic! He's been really popular doing a show in Las Vegas, and that was the show that he gave at the RAH. It was a mixture of a couple of old Bros songs (done with a swing groove), some classic songs (e.g Feeling Good) and some of his own new material (e.g current dance hit Firefly).
I thought he was a really good performer, and I've always thought that he had a fantastic voice, which was spine-tingling at times last night.
The best thing was watching the audience. What on earth happened to the mild-mannered 30-something women, who probably have husbands and kids at home? Hormones were on fire all over, and about a dozen different women battled with security guards, vaulted barriers and barged up steps to race onto the stage and touch/hug/kiss Matt Goss! I don't think the beefy bouncers quite knew what to do. At the end, the elderly ladies with red Albert Hall jackets came in as back-up to hold back the tide of middle-aged Brosettes!
I'm definitely going to get a copy of his new album Gossy, and I hope we hear much more of him.

I saw him on Sunday at the HMV Forum Kentish Town, a really great little place. As you say, its great to get a chance to see him in such a place. None of us knew the album but that didn't really matter to usjordsmum wrote:I went to see Brandon Flowers (The Killers frontman) last night at the 02 Academy Liverpool. What an amazing gig! The only downside was the fact that they opened the doors about an hour late and the queue was massive, and it was pretty cold

I saw him in New York in one of his first solo shows and he was fantastic! I have a great video of him playing 'Hard Enough' and I watch it frequently. On the whole I rated the album a 7 but live he is fantastic.

Re: Music Concerts/Gigs
Does anyone know how much Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball tickets normally cost? Kids are begging to go.... might make it an early xmas pressie.
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!
Re: Music Concerts/Gigs
I booked for my teenage daughter and friends today via the capital pre-sale link (which is now closed) . I pa*d £54.75 for level 1. There are cheaper seats but these are very high up ones and thought lower seating would be restricted view due to the standing. I have been told they sell out very quickly so you may be best to get an 02 priority code from someone who has an 02 phone if you do not and book in the pre-sale on saturday. Info here.raineylb wrote:Does anyone know how much Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball tickets normally cost? Kids are begging to go.... might make it an early xmas pressie.
