Re: The A-Team
For me it was a wonderful guilty pleasure!
I was very surprised to actually enjoy the experience, it was completely over the top nonsense... perfect!

Personally I enjoyed it. Yeah the CGI wasn't great, it was unrealistic and it wasn't the best written script you'll ever see but neither was the TV series.
As a big dumb blockbuster it's definitely better than some of last summers offerings.
There's a massive lack of bling though.

Re: The A-Team
Having read some of the reviews people have given I have to agree that it was 'pure escapism'.
But as a fan of the original series, I have to agree with AYGB and Beate's comments and say this was a pretty disappointing film.
Lots of action sequences strung together by a very loose story line, so much so, that it could have been any four guys up there on the screen - they didn't have to call it 'The A Team' and tarnish the memories of so many that grew up watching the show every Saturday afternoon.
Murdoch is still definitely the best character, but unfortunately doesn't have as much screen time as the other characters - particularly, Face. The whole back story of his love interest with Jessica Biel's character made it seem that the film was written as a starring vehicle for Bradley Cooper (who's now famous for being the guy from The Hangover').
Liam Neeson did a fairly good job of Hannibal but Quentin Jackson as B.A was awful. I can't blame the actor (given he does look the part) but his character was nothing like the no-nonsense, hardman from the TV show and rarely uttered any of his famous phrases.
All in all parts of it were fun but when it came to the end of the movie as I was ready to escape myself- I'm just disappointed that I left my seat so quickly that I missed the cameos at the end!

Went to see this last night, really enjoyed it being an eighties child. Good story and some humorous bits too.

Re: The A-Team
I asked my OH (female) what she thought of the film as we were leaving and she said "I don't think I have enough p*nis to have just watched that movie". Sums it up rather nicely I think!! Lots of explosions and action sequences, loose on plot, but tbh I rather enjoyed it!!

Haha!!!! Is there still a vacancy for Film 2010 on the Beeb? Not even Jonathan Woss could come up with that one-linerhdaniel82 wrote:"I don't think I have enough p*nis to have just watched that movie".

LOL, love it! And she is right, it was very macho, with the A-Team happy like little boys and high-fiving each other when they blew something up.hdaniel82 wrote:I asked my OH (female) what she thought of the film as we were leaving and she said "I don't think I have enough p*nis to have just watched that movie". Re: The A-Team
Did The A-Team need "girl power" to be brought into the 21st century? Discuss.
