Just overheard the woman in charge telling the staff to tell anyone who complains to complain to sky about it as" it isn't as if they have pa*d for it".

It will be a very late schoolnight for the kids!
That is ridiculous! You may have not pa*d for it, but all of you made time and arrangements with others to go all the way there and watch it!

pfft...Passing the blame!

I was at Greenwich and was so disappointed by this. So, so disappointed. The cinema staff looked like they couldn't give a damn whether we were angry or not so I left during the 2D screening. It was especially bad as I had hiked all the way from Tooting and my +1 was someone who had never seen a 3D film before, and hadn't been to the cinema in years. It's enough to put me off 3D permanently. If they don't compensate me for this all hell will break loose. Really.

just back from North Finchley, the cinema was probably 60-70% full, half of it were kiddies... it was adorable to hear them laughing all through the movie!
no problem with the 3D here (I wasn't expecting 3D, so I was a bit annoyed... I am probably one of the few that doesn't see the point of 3D yet!)

really enjoyed it and wouldn't mind seeing it again!

8/10 for me and roll on the Oscars

That is such a shame. I'm not a fan of 3D but this one was actually good 3D, sadly the glasses were so big and bulky that I was having problems breathing in the end.

Anyway, I was lucky enough to get given a ticket for the premiere by my old work colleagues. We were going up the yellow carpet behind Russell Brand which was really funny, he's getting even skinnier 8O . I was sitting up in the circle on my own but Beate sneaked up later and sat with me.

I loved the film, giggled all the way through especially at the minions ( I so want one for my desk) I'm not usually a Steve Carrell fan but he was so funny in this. It was just the right length, at 95 mins, and went extremely fast, so no one not even the kids had time to get bored or restless. 9/10
preferred locations Shepherds Bush, Westfield, Notting Hill, Central London, Wimbledon, Islington, Wandsworth thanks

I went to the premiere tonight. Huge hooplah going on at Leicester Square with music and screaming for the stars. The woman with the tickets didn't turn up until 10 to 6, we then went for a quick meal, then onto the yellow carpet at around 6.30pm. Jenny Falconer was just interviewing Russell Brand who was sitting in a box (the box of shame?), there were some yellow minions dancing around, and we walked in to find water, chocolate buttons, glasses wipes and a Sky magazine at our seats. They showed red carpet footage: interviews with the stars plus clips from the film and pre-recorded bits with Steve Carrell and Helen Mirren. Steve Carrell said about his accent that it was supposed to be a weird mixture of several accents including Scottish and Canadian although quite frankly it sounded Russian to me! The seats were so close to the screen, it was horrible. Then valda texted me to see where I was sitting and she had some great seats upstairs! I went to talk to her for a minute and it turned out her mate never made it so she was sitting on her own.

Then Steve Carrell and Miranda Cosgrove came on stage and said a few words. They actually walked up through the middle so walked past very closely to us! Walked back out past us again - that Steve Carrell is kinda handsome! Unfortunately my camera failed at the crucial moment as OH, naturally, had forgotten to bring the charged up camera batteries along. I had asked valda to text us if there were still seats available around her once it started and she did. Funnily, OH didn't want to come with me then, so I made my dash upstairs alone to sit with valda - there were quite a few seats still left which is a scandal when people have to sit squished in the stalls!

Anyway, loved the film. It was very funny, cute and heartwarming - the perfect mixture. The 3D was put to good use for a change - I would have watched it in 2D at Greenwich but it was nice seeing the full effect and the delays would have driven me crazy! Seems I had a lucky escape.

They gave out cheestrings spaghetti at the end - weird stuff. Am I meant to eat that or cook it? Eat probably, although all it tastes of is cheap cheese. And I've got about 7 packets! They also handed out Despicable Me badges to the kids - no surprise that OH managed to get one then, the big kid that he is, LOL.

Thanks to valda for letting me sit with her and giving me a spare water bottle, as I had forgotten everything at my old seat!

9/10

Sorry you all had so many problems with your screening. :(

Saw this at Ocean Terminal which was almost full. Saw trailers of some 3D movies including Legend of the Guardians which looks good. We were all given 3D glasses and free popcorn as we came in. Loved the cute little girls. The kids in the audience seemed to like it as you could hear them laughing. A very enjoyable movie - could watch it all again. 9 out of 10.

Such a shame some of you had problems, it was fine at our screening and we got free popcorn too.

We all really, really enjoyed this one, the 3D was very good and impressed the kids, it was very funny.

"Watched" this at Greenwich.Probably one of the worst cinema experiences in my entire life. The film was blurry right from the start and people went straightaway to warn the staff but the film wasn't stopped until 20 mins in! They then announced that they fixed it but could only restart it from the beginning. It was clear from the restart that the problem wasn't fixed and the film ran on for 10 mins. They announced that they would have to show it in 2D! And from the start. As you can imagine the everyone was pretty frustrated. The family behind me left as the kids were so upset. Then about an hour through the film they turned on the lights and shut the sound and started playing the soundtrack from Gladiator! Missed about 10 minutes of dialogue. Such a shame as it was a terrific film which Cineworld did its utmost to ruin. Dreadful. Film 10/10, Cineworld 0/10  .

Yes, what a pity, if it not been all the 3D problems, it would have been a very good film, and would have enjoyed it much more! At the start, I along with quite a few others went to change our 3D glasses as we thought it was a fault with them, but was told it was something wrong with the screen!

Would have liked to have watched this in 3D especially the parts on the roller coaster and the parts flying through the air. It was also a bit tedious watching the beginning several times and blurry while they try to fix the problem, but once they decided to switch to 2D, we got really engrossed and we all loved it, heard a lot of laughter from down where bevvy was - must be her grandchildren - but then all was spoilt again as the sound went at a crucial moment, and the lights came on low! We thought, not again, can't start again, as by then it was getting quite late! After about 5 or so minutes, the sound came back on and everyone cheered.

Anyway, loved and enjoyed what I saw, and I love cartoons too! I was aahing all the way through. There were some funny bits during the credits with the minions. 9/10

We also got popcorn and a bottle of water. Afterwards, bevvy, her grandson and I went round looking for blue bottle tops, so they can go for a free swim with them. I am not sure how many we collected, but I was thinking the cleaners will have their jobs cut out trying to pick up bottles still with water in them, some were half full! hehe.

Thanks to milkchocmonkey for saving me seats, and I felt privileged to sit next to her hunky bf. o/ It was also lovely to wave to hdaniel82 and a_person - saw them frantically waving up at us at the back, before I realised who they were in the dark! :P
