Brilliant film, lovely to meet Yinster!!! Turns out we sat beside beside them at Thor as well. 9/10 for us as well, I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. The style of the movie, the acting and effects were seamless and the cameo from
Hugh Jackman
gave me a giggle.

Yes it was me, I was one of the evil posters who gave away one of the cameos. I was on my phone and couldn't tag. :nono:

Sorry to hear some people didn't get to see the film tonight. In Richmond they used a bigger screen than usual and it was much less than half full. No ID or Amex checks but we had to leave our phones outside.

Really enjoyed the movie, luckily for us we watched the original last night so could really keep up with all the characters.

Loved all the special effects and morphing and the action scenes, but all the threads of the story seemed to tie neatly together so a good night.

My friend and I arrived at Greenwich well in time (around 6), phones and cameras were confiscated didn't get asked for amex cards though (pfew!). The screen was absolutely packed when the movie started.

After about 20 minutes the movie started to jump, this continued for about 5-10 minutes until the movie was eventually turned off and we'd got told they were trying to fix it but it was possibly a fault with the harddrive which they didn't have time to check beforehand and we had to be prepared that they couldn't continue the movie at all. Luckily this wasn't the case and when it was turned back on there were no more problems.

As for the story itself: LOVED IT! I daresay my favourite of the X-men movies so far. James McAvoy can do no wrong and Michael Fassbender (who I didn't really know yet) was amazing as well (& not too shabby to look at either!). Loved the entire "First Class" too, even Jennifer Lawrence who I didn't care for in Winter's Bone but I'm now excited to see in The Hunger Games. And a certain character's one line stole the show, really fab movie. 9.5/10

Just back from watching this at the Printworks in Manchester. No one was asking for the Amex cards here (I did take mine along though just in case, never had any notification from Amex itself about the preview). Guy at cinema door checking bags and taking phones. Stuck mine in my pocket as no way I'm handing over my phone to some strangers, I've seen The Real Hustle lol. Completed waste of time anyways, if somebody was in the mind to record it they would have the device hidden on them. Cinema was full, a few late arrivals struggled to find seats and had to split up. Always makes me laugh when late people walk in with arms of popcorn, drinks and nachos. If I'm ever running late I want to get in as quick as possible not take a detour via the snack stand. We all enjoyed the film itself, best part was the cameo, 9/10

I am glad there weren't any extras in the credit, everyone was dashing off to get their phones!

Yinster wrote:Well I got in finally in Braehead and credit to the cinema manager as he let us and another couple in first cos we waiting patiently outwith the queue. Don't think OH could had stand for that length with toes bandaged up from ingrown toe nails being cut off. Turns out the other couple were fellow fmukers, Moggers so it was nice to meet another forum user. Also saw Cheeksdevil too.

Still don't understand why security was so tight and yet not when the p*ying public can see this from midnight in some cinemas. If the release date was a couple of months down the line then fair enough. Phones asked but no searches.

As for the film it is the best film so far for me this year. High expectations because all the reviews have been positive and it didn't disappoint. The prequel definitely told the story of the beginnings of the x-men and how it all began. From start to finish I was hooked. Perhaps it was partly to the era but nothing felt out of place or far fetched. Both main characters were excellent and supports too. It loses one point from 10 only because there was no wee extra at the end of the credits. 9/10

Don't believe the period was the problem, superhero. I don't think seeing Frost's several layers of foundation + the pimples/bumps it covers would be fashionable at any point in time.. Raven's eyeliner didn't do her eyes and cheeks any favors either.

Just got back from Liverpool ONE and agreed that it was a fantastic film. Good pacing, great characters development, and the main characters had awesome chemistry! In my opinion, had to be the best out of the X-Men movie franchise. Surprised that the cinema wasnt full but have to thank DaveWeed for the tickets.

no extra in the credits???? that does not sound right... maybe they cut it because it was a free preview
