Saw this at Liverpool Picturehouse this morning, film started approx 15 minutes late following quite a few trailers. I absolutely loved this film!

Wasn't too keen on the violence, too brutal for me, I looked away from the screen several times, but I guess it was necessary to set the plot.
From a slow paced start you could feel the tension rising. There was maybe 50-60 people at today's screening, all totally engrossed in the film. No noise, no chatting or rustling of sweet wrappers, no texting on mobiles... it was eerie.

Ryan Gosling played such a great part in this, he didn't need words to convey his actions. Carey Mulligan's part was too understated I thought, for someone who went through so much, she didn't show many emotions. Overall, an great action film. Can't wait to see it again.

I have Edinburgh as well.....it's the clash with What's Your Number that is the issue, although that sounds a bit girly tbh. Lol.

The director was on BBC news this morning, and when asked about how he dealt with the violence, and how he filmed it, he said, " filming violence is a bit like f**king"
He was quite taken aback at the fact that was a naughty word on a news program :giggle:

I was going to and really wanted on of the t-shirts, but besides the fact I saw it yesterday, I have another screening to attend. I'd definitely see it again if I was free, though. Such an incredible film.

I think he's going to Real Steel.
Btw, David's review is suspicious by its absence.

Saw this at the Ritzy yesterday - was amazing.

Apparently, Ran Gosling only says 20 lines throughout the movie, but he was amazing! Definitely recommend it, though the violence was a bit brutal for a Sunday morning - it was brilliantly done, with an excellent soundtrack and stylish shots.
