I don't think any of the major chains are that great, but in my experience Vue is probably the least of the evils so if the new owners did expand their empire (no pun intended), maybe they could keep some of Vue's good points and apply them to Cineworld or Odeon.

Angela Lansbury Will Play Katherine Heigl’s Daughter.

You read that right. In the upcoming film Adaline, where Katherine Heigl plays a woman killed in a car crash but given new life and immortality by a simultaneous lightning strike (sadly, she doesn't appear to also get super-strength), Angela Lansbury will play Heigl's not-immortal daughter, who has aged into her 80s. It's Lansbury's second movie role in a row after a five-year absence from the screen; she's currently shooting Mr. Popper's Penguins opposite Jim Carrey. Finally, Betty White has a legitimate rival.

(To be fair, I like Betty White.)

Looks like another Hollywood ingenue will have to give birth to Angela Lansbury. Deadline reports that Katherine Heigl has dropped out of the fantasy drama Adaline, where she was supposed to play a woman given immortality by a freak lightning strike. The movie (which Heigl and her mother were producing with Andy Tennant onboard to direct) was already casting up and set to start in March; Deadline says that rumors have circulated that Heigl was fired from the film, though official word is that she withdrew to spend more time with her adopted daughter. Lakeshore Entertainment intends to replace the actress soon, so Amy Adams, now you know who's been calling you all day.

The film version of Yazmina Reza's stage hit "God Of Carnage", to be directed by Roman Polanski, will star Kate Winslet, Christoph Waltz, Jodie Foster and John C. Reilly.

Lucas to insert dead actors in new movie?

George Lucas is reportedly snapping up the rights to dead movie stars with an aim to digitally insert them into a new movie.

British comedy star Mel Smith has told The Sun of the 'Star Wars' mastermind's film plans.

Smith, who is a long-term friend of Lucas, said, "George has been b*ying up the film rights to dead actors in the hope of using computer trickery to put them all together, so you'd have Orson Welles and Barbara Stanwyck alongside today's stars."

Computer generated imagery like the ones seen in 'Avatar' has been hailed as a breakthrough in special effects - with James Cameron predicting recently that older actors like Clint Eastwood could reprise a role like Dirty Harry and look like they did when they first made the movie.

The forthcoming 'Tron' sequel features both a young computer generated Jeff Bridges and the older one nowadays.

Director David Fincher, writer Aaron Sorkin and actor Jesse Eisenberg are probably popping Champagne bottles somewhere right now.
