I should just mention he came in 20 minutes late and sat down in front of my brother. So he's a bastard on many levels.

Oh yes. I was sitting in front of her. ANNOYING!!! I've never heard someone chew so loud!

To be fair, she had a point, people keeping a spare seat for their jacket. I had to ask people to move down, and got confused looks, but she didn't have to be so loud.

I watched the original film this afternoon before seeing the new one again at Westfield, and I have to say I enjoyed Legacy a lot more the second time around. Being more sober probably helped and bits of information started sinking in... The 3D seemed to work much better at Vue than it did at the O2 (not sure why) and that score is just amazing, so worth re-watching for that alone if nothing else.

And the plot in many ways is similar to the 1982 original, simple good vs. evil stuff, it’s even colour coded! In place of the Master Control Program, now we have Clu as the tyrannical artificial intelligence attempting to break out of the “circuit board” and take over the real world, and our freedom fighters Flynn, Tron & co are there to stop him.

If it’s not your cup of tea, that’s okay, but if you’re a fan of the original, you will definitely like this. Also, I did read somewhere about a possible tv series!? I hope they leave it alone now, but they probably won’t.

I only watched the original Tron a day before the screening and I really liked it. It was fun, imaginative and I cared about the characters. But Tron: Legacy really fails to capture the spirit, or essence of its predecessor. It swaps emotion and character development for better special effects and the 3D, which I think adds nothing to the story. Its dialogue is noticeably terrible, and don't even mention the motion-captured young Jeff Bridges. Once again, I have to make clear: expensive does not mean enjoyable. 4/10

I don't even understand people saying the effects are great. They are quite cheap, florescent lighting in very dark backgrounds.
Even Monsters look more expensive!
Anyway people should boycott this film, we don't want to encourage Disney to make more films like this where they are just thinking hey can we sell a few Tron video games, how about Tron the ride at disney world and a Flynn action figure for the happy meal etc....

What!? It's hilarious at times, "biodigital jazz", "radical, man"... I half expected Clu or Flynn to say f*** it dude, let's go bowling, as The Guradian put it Flynn is like a cross between Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Dude from the Big Lebowski.

And double Bridges is fine with me, maybe he could remake Multiplicity next, and whilst the effect was particularly dodgy in the real world, it wasn't too bad in the grid - and though not perfect is still an amazing achievement.

Our cinema was about 85% full. Mum and daughter did not understand the film, went straight over their heads, but the rest of us did, me more as I had just recently watched the original film.

I enjoyed the special effects and the music and the film 'ok', I would give this 6.5/10, however, I am glad that I did not p*y to see it.

Like wierdfilms33 I watched the original movie the night before and thought it was quite dire. Legacy slightly less dire, but that's only because the effects were better. Poor script, a massive let down after all the hype. Wish I'd gone to watch Loose Cannons instead.

6/10
