Re: what are you upto right now...?
In my dad's house, making sure he knows how to work his new fryer. He has not had chips at home for over a year as the other fryer was too big for just him. I managed to find a nice mid sized one.
(He doesn't like oven chips.)
I sometimes wonder why i bother . . ."chips are dry! I think they are burnt!"
Nothing is ever right!
ps I thought the chips were great!

You try, McG, because that's the kind of caring person you are. I'm sure your Dad loved the chips in spite of his comments!

Families can be challenging at times and try not to let them get to you (easier said than done I know). My mother comes out with statements that can be trying to say the leastejwrank wrote:McG wrote:In my dad's house, making sure he knows how to work his new fryer. Re: what are you upto right now...?
Trying to sort out new house insurance! What a mess . . . there are too many options and variables!
I'm beginning to think I should either just let my current policy renew . . . or go for the cheapest reasonable cover from a reputable company and never mind all the different permutations

I'm trying to do ours, too, and I always refer to the Which? magazine best buys, but it's very difficult to get quotations when so many companies require you to estimate the value of your contents and say they will reduce any claim if you under-insure. I haven't a clue how much our contents are worth and don't think it's fair to expect laypeople to know this. There are a few companies which will insure you for an unlimited amount but they may not be the best in other respects - grr!
