The exact wording under settings is "clear history and website data". That's what solves the problem but it's annoying and I don't understand why I suddenly have to do that. No idea how to do your other suggestions. It's Safari on an iPad.

I just installed Safari for windows and I see your problem. I can only suggest you look at this
http://www.imore.com/best-alternative-w ... y-and-more
and install a different browser.

Not wanting to feel smug or anything but I've solved the problem - by completely logging out of yahoo and logging back in again. It has only happened once since and a simple logout got it back. Much better than losing all my cookies and history every time.

Um, okay, so I just talked on my old Nokia phone and before ending the call must have pressed a random button and it said "audio routed to loudspeaker". How do I undo this? Can't seem to find it in settings.

I would try looking at the power menu - press and release the power button.

I have an Acer aspire e15 b*ght last April. On Sunday afternoon it started behaving erratically, it was fine before then and I hadnt updated or done anything different, first it wasn't responding so I had to shut down using off switch. When it came back on on I realised there were still problems. Its very unresponsive hard to do anything, problems with mouse/touchpad jumping around and I click one thing and it does something else, keeps opening things nowhere near where I have clicked. Searched and suggestions to check a few things but found nothing and still having problems. Tried to do system restore yesterday but problems with that too, I tried to go back to last backup which I think was last week, waited ages for the system to restore to reload and then it said it couldn’t use the date I had chosen! Then I couldnt get it to work after the system restore and son had to try and open in safe mode, then it came on, but still problems. When I check it says at I am using almost 100% CPU, 89% memory most of the time, and then it changes erratically. When I try to find out why its using so much a couple of things using 20%-30% then they jump up to 50% but most only using small amounts. I have no idea what half the things are what they do and worried I might end the wrong task and make things worse. Did an avast virus scan no threat found. Keep getting pop-ups saying warning unresponsive plug-in shockwave flash may be busy, not sure if connected to problems. Other than being so unresponsive the thing that is bothering me most is not being able to use the touchpad as go to used it and the mouse seems wrong with a laptop. I downloaded Ccleaner from link on this thread, but when I went to the clean up option, it was saying it was going to delete so much of my stuff I chickened out and worried I might lose something important, Currently using my new tablet to type this. Any suggestions on what else I can try would be greatly appreciated.

If I have any computer problems and my anti virus programme hasn't found anything untoward, I double check by using Trend Housecall which is a real time anti virus checker and is free to use.

Give that a go. It's found problems for me and others I've recommended it to that other virus checkers haven't.

This sounds more like a hardware fault. I expect that some kind of liquid has dried out in the keyboard and/or the touchpad. A friends notebook was doing similar until I disconnected the keyboard and plugged in a usb one. Eventually I replaced with new from ebay. He used a spray polish to clean the keyboard, bad idea.

8O I did clean the screen on Sunday, but using cloth with the computer cleaning spray on it, not directly onto the laptop, so only damp, dont recall cleaning the keyboard though nor spilling anything on it, only cleaned the screen as the sunlight showed up all the streaks on it as I moved position

I have downloaded Housecall and currently at 65% (waiting for it to finish so I can go to bed) nothing found so far so maybe you are right steve.

Did you replace who laptop from ebay? I currently have an old mouse plugged in which is useable, but not great as I was used to the touchpad. Would that also explain the sluggishness and amount of cpu, etc being used?

First you need to confirm that its the keyboard or touchpad at fault by disconnecting them. That means someone who knows how to safely dismantle it needs to be hands on. If it then works fine with usb keyboard and mouse, then you obtain replacements.
