I seem to be in the minority, but I enjoyed this film. I thought it was funny, well acted and well worth the time.

Totally agree with that.

And I can't wait for Apple to put the wrist attached "iGun" into production. I'll be first in the queue for one of those!

Good to hear that we all have different tastes. C & A is not the worst film I've seen this year so far. I'd give that award to Bad Teacher!

I've posted my review here: http://t.co/bCjDzMi

I suppose I enjoyed it more than others and more than I should have, but sometimes I'm just like that. The whole gold-lovin' aliens thing really bugs me the more I think about it.
102 Different free films seen in 2010 plus 2 repeat viewings and a few tv show screenings... not too shabby. Thanks to everyone for their contributions here.

yes I was thinking the same in spoiler 1
I took to wondering if he was wearing underpants or not
I was in a pretty packed Freezing Shepherds Bush. I'm wondering to myself if my thoughts of the film have been influenced by reviews etc. So on reflection, I've seen worse, a lot worse. At least it rattled on at a fair pace and potholes apart, was quite enjoyable in a strange way. I thought Harrison Ford was funny, I quite like his grumpyness.
6.5/10

Now where can I get me some lovely waterproof makeup?

Though I had free tickets to see this on Monday, I decided to catch it immediately after Drive at Big Screen at the weekend.
Sadly it turned out to be fairly underwhelming (seeing it directly after one of the best films of the year probably didn't help).
After an entertaining opening 30 minutes, the film sadly became distinctly average once the aliens turned up.
Several things made this hard to enjoy. For one it took itself way too seriously and the script was far too po-faced for it's own good. You'd have thought that with 5 writers responsible, one of them could have put some humour into it.
There was also an opportunity for a fun double act between Ford and Craig but they never exploited it. The two actors seemingly in different movies for most of the time.
The aliens motives were also fairly vague and unconvincing. Harrison Ford's character summed it up when he said 'They want gold? What are they gonna do, b*y things?' (probably not the exact quote but close enough).
The cast tried their best and I liked Sam Rockwell and Walton Goggins attempts to inject a bit of humour into proceedings, but it was all for nothing and I quickly got bored.
Cowboys & Aliens wasn't awful, just very average. It works as a western but the lacklustre sci-fi element drags it down. A movie with that title should be a great deal more fun than this is.

I have heard the original comics are alot weirder and more bizzare than the movie. Which is just brain explodingly impossible for me to comprehend that fact, but such is life

I wish the movie had been weirder and more bizarre, tbh.
