[spoiler]But I thought all the cultures were doing the rituals for the same ancient gods (as they were all failing and US was the final hope) doesn't that mean that these gods would stick to the one ritual they want used?[/spoiler]

[spoiler]Surely that was explained at the end "All the rituals have youth in common", at least that's how I remember it.[/spoiler]

[spoiler]Oh ok. I thought they were talking about rituals in general when trying to make sense of what was going on (what they've read in books etc), not the ritual in particular for the ancient gods.[/spoiler]

[spoiler]Not sure if I am missing an inside joke with Sigourney Weaver's appearance. Is there a connection with any of her roles or previous films? As this role was meant to be "The Director" of the cabin in the woods scenario, this would have been a nice opportunity to have a well known director play the role, one that could act a little at least, the appearance is enough to make an impact. I would have been in fits if it was Woody Allen. Maybe Sam Raimi (though not many would recognise him). Sigourney was a great cameo though, just thinking of the inside joke link.[/spoiler]
