Re: Breaking News
The latest is that the Police will oppose bail.
What sad news to wake up to.

By pure logic that would mean they think it was no accident and/or they feel he's a flight risk. The Sparrow wrote:The latest is that the Police will oppose bail.

Re: Breaking News
The one athlete I actually support for the sake of my country turns out to be a total douche-bag.
And I say that not because I suspect this is a murder (4 gunshots - wtf?), but also because friends of mine who know him personally have repeatedly confirmed what an arrogant pr!ck he actually is. It's so easy to use the crime situation in SA as a scapegoat for things like this.
Horribly sad news for Reeva Steenkamp's family.

"Brigadier Denis Beukes confirmed the pair were the only ones present in the house at the time of the shooting, and that there had been previous incidents at the premises including "allegations of a domestic nature"
Hmmm doesn't look good...

Re: Breaking News
This thing smells so fishy to me. My folks themselves live in a country estate over there, similar to the one Oscar was inhabiting (very nearby too) and in the ten years that they've lived there, there hasn't been a single incident of crime in the estate. Not one. This is the media once again spiraling out of control making South Africa to be some crime-laden hellhole. Sickens me. I won't deny that the crime level there is astronomically high, but there are many areas which are even safer than the UK, and this is undeniably one of them.

Re: Breaking News
S.A. Police confirm he has Oscar P been charged with murder, they do not know where the mistaken identity/burglar story come from, but not from them and they confirm they have been called to his property before for 'Incidents of a domestic nature'.
Preferred Cinema's now Paignton or Exeter!

Re: Breaking News
Crikey, on the day that I am joining several astronomers this evening to observe the near miss Asteroid 2012 DA14 (um yeah, long story but I've got into astronomy big time, lately, one of the reasons for my absence here!)
This happens: An asteroid hits Russia, few hundreds injured. Biggest since an asteroid hit Syberia a hundred years ago.
