I want a Christmas party!

Have just started in a new job and guess what? They don't 'do' Christmas parties.

Our New York office has a massive bash but nothing here :(

Missed out last Christmas because of the credit crunch and not in a job the year before that. I think the universe is conspiring against me!

Come join ours. It's at an Indian Restaurant.

Actually, we have Indian food (and other types) at work on Xmas Day, as one of our Indian colleagues brings in home-made dishes. It's very difficult to resist, even if you're going home to a Xmas meal...

We might be saving anywhere else, but we never save on the Christmas Party. We are going somewhere posh in the West End and to a bar afterwards. We will probably have some form of entertainment during the meal as well. The menu looks gorgeous, we have 3 choices each and I know exactly what I am having already.

It's a good thing I don't like parties and "do's", or I might feel deprived after reading all this! But if you work for a 24/7 organisation, you can't have a Xmas meal/party, anyway, because some of the staff would need to be working. We can still have fun at work, and quite honestly, I get fed up with seeing food everywhere, day after day.

John Lewis have sent me a voucher for a free hot drink and mince pie - and I don't need any encouragement to go to John Lewis anyway; it's about the only store I do like visiting! It might not sound much, but their cafes are quite expensive so I wouldn't visit one if I had to p*y. There were other vouchers, too, but for a draw and minimum spends, so this is the only one whcih will definitely be of use.
