Normally they do offer an alternative film...but hey I am not going to complain, its a free film afterall! I just feel sorry for all the people who had a large popcorn and coke in their hands, but had nothing to watch!

a_person wrote:Not an excuse for newbies to arrive at 6.30 - I'm sorry, I was a newbie once too (as were we all). I used my head and the brain inside of it to get their early so I don't disturb others. It's just common courtesy really and it's such a shame, people don't even have that these days.

Superhero, you should have asked to watch another film!!! Especially now you know that there were free seats available! If I had your number, I would text you in to say "there are still odd ones here and there. Quick, get in!!! "
I have a tip for them: next time get in first, get seats then send one person out to b*y the drinks. This way you make sure you get a seat before you spend money.

I don't know what the policy is about turning people away when it's full: do they have to offer them an alternative? When a film doesn't turn up and it's not your fault they should, as WIQ did yesterday. And I do remember the Odeon Covent Garden giving us all free drinks when Slumdog Millionaire was delayed. But I suppose when it's first come first served it depends on the goodwill of the cinema.

My biggest complaint with the film was that the tense scenes got a little bit repetitive and although great, they were never as good as the first Chapter - superb, Sergio Leone-inspired, and it sent my heart thumping like a maniac... When it cut to that aerial view, I could've died and gone to cinephile heaven...!
It's a very interesting film to think about too - as in Fight Club and A Clockwork Orange I think the film's portrayal of violence is meant to appeal to the inner borderline-fascist, the kind that cheers on the action hero in films like Die Hard. Or in this film, if you were glad Landa didn't "get away with it"! Aldo Raine may hate the Nazis, and for all the cultural differences (three fingers) and Jews-are-rats-Germans-are-hawks schtick, there's little difference between them. The Nazi film, consisting of little more than a man shooting lots of people, and the audience's reaction was Tarantino's way of holding up the mirror at us. Bravo.
This may not be his masterpiece, but it sure lived up to the hype. 8/10 o/
It was definitely well worth a watch!!!! I was glad Landa didn't get away with it!!! :P Especially the carving of the swastika on their forehead amd calling it his masterpiece!!! I thought that was a good ending!!!

Shame the girl died though. I didn't want her to die. :(

I think on the bottom of the ticket printout it says they don't need to give you an alternative because it's first come first served and they advise you to get there for 6.00pm!

No they don't have to offer anything as the tickets state first come, first serve.

When we went to Wandsworth to see Happy Go Lucky and it was cancelled because the film hadn't turned up or something silly like that I spoke to the Manager. She told me that the cinema were not accounable as my ticket came from SFF and therefore my "contract" was with SFF as the service provider and not the cinema.

I think it is a case of hoping you have a nice manager when things go wrong!

didnt see you tonight destresserai.
wimbledon wasnt that full. the film wasn't bad lots of blood and violence as you'd expect from tarrentino. couldnt work out why there were subtitles at the beginning for french but not for german converstaions. i wouldnt have pa*d to see this and i was a little dissapointed so many people died when i wasnt expecting it lol . only 2 IB survived and Hans and no happy ending for the cinema girl.

The guys at Covent Garden are pretty relaxed, they don't really check your printout. I went in with the printout and said my OH would come later and the OH then went in with the same printout! It's not cheating as we used a ticket for two people, just printed it out once more so we could get in separately, but it proves that it would be easy to duplicate tickets and get away with it.

They very rarely check printouts at all. Tonight the OH brought the wrong ticket (for a screening of IG at edinburgh the day before) I thought we might be scuppered but i hit the ticket checker with a "these are not the droids you are looking for" mindtrick and was directed to the appropriate screen. Wunderbar!

Emptiest screening i have been to in ages though, only a fifth full and thats being generous. Maybe something to do with U2 playing and celtic hosting the Arse in the champions league, but still a pretty poor turnout!

Movie was pretty good, some real standout scenes, and (to be expected) excellent dialogue, but i still felt it was too long and could have been trimmed by as much as half an hour. The violence was sometimes a bit ott, and the finale felt a bit cobbled together, like he wasnt quite sure how to end the story arcs. Still, enjoyable entertainment, and I'm just being a bit picky as I expect 10/10 from QT Movies! Easliy an 8/10 for me

That's odd. There were empty seats in the first row.

I saw it at Panton Street on Monday, it was the first time I've ever been ID'd for a SFF/Tellten screening.

I personally think they should do 2 things:

1- Push the screenings back to 7pm starts to allow people to commute from work etc (they've done so for certain films in the past)
2- Stick to their word - NO ADMISSION after the time on the ticket.

On Monday, the film (which was brilliant) started on time at 6.30, yet by 7pm ushers were still coming in with torchlights trying to help latercomers find seats. That's annoying at the best of times, but as that cinema has what must be the smallest screens ever (I've seen TV's at Dixons bigger than that), they kept blocking the subtitles on screen so I couldn't follow parts of the film.

If you can't make it to a cinema on time, don't go!

Well exactly my point, even little Panton Street had empty seats left at 7pm on Monday night for IB!
