I'm not surprised this show is closing early. Ticket sales have been abysmal. The whole production has probably lost money.

Re: Free Theatre/Concert Tickets Discussion Thread
I think when I watched it the signs outside the theatre said end of August anyway. I doubt they would have wanted to close after the school summer holidays, but they must have picked up pxc if the show you went to was 90% full in the stalls.
I don't think there's much running costs for the show, they just needed lots of cardboard boxes

But the theatre has to p*y for all the ushers, and the production assistants backstage. It is shocking that they can't even fill the stalls despite giving away free tickets.

They would still make money, the margins on theatre tickets are shocking. Ushers sadly get the bare minimum. I think 4 full priced stalls ticket would cover all the ushers they need for the stalls.

If anyone knows anything about the upcoming Punchdrunk colloboration with Playstation from Aug 31st, can you please send me a pm? I am extremely keen, but can't find anything online or on the Playstation pages. I would really appreciate any help....

Yeah I've caught a few versions of that article and very exciting about the PD Travel plans. That must be the ultimate art form experience (I better start saving up)
By the way, The Beauty Queen of Leeneane is back at the Young Vic. You've got to go and see it, it's a-m-a-z-i-n-g

About the ENRON:
The only difference between me and the people judging me is they weren't smart enough to do what we did.
One of the most infamous scandals in financial history becomes a theatrical epic. Mixing classical tragedy with savage comedy, it follows a group of flawed men and women in a narrative of greed and loss which reviews the tumultuous 1990s and casts a new light on the financial turmoil in which the world finds itself in 2009.
Based on real life and using music, movement and video, ENRON will be directed by Headlong Theatre's Artistic Director Rupert Goold in his Royal Court directorial debut. His recent credits include the award-winning Macbeth and Six Characters in Search of an Author and King Lear, No Man's Land and Oliver!
Lucy Prebble won the George Devine Award and the Critics Circle Award for Most Promising Playwright for her debut play The Sugar Syndrome at the Royal Court in 2004.
