Yeah I believe those were my words.

Re: I Am Number Four
The first Twilight movie was made at a much lower standard, I personally think (yet I loved it because of the book).
I don't understand why people who didn't like it are looking down on people who did... It's not just about taste, it's about expectations as well. I did not expect it to be anything more than it was, maybe that's why I enjoyed it so much.

I am not looking down on anyone, I just don't understand it.
Re: I Am Number Four
I think its being a bit harsh on the movie to dismiss it as a Twilight clone. I thought it was a far better movie than the latter, for a start the leads were at least likeable and the CGI was reasonably impressive. I Am Number Four was a far better movie from the writing to the execution, its a back handed compliment however as it doesnt mean IAN4 was anything other than a complete missed opportunity to make a great movie for both young demographics.
Re: I Am Number Four
I loved it, but I have to agree it could have been done so much better, it could have been.. well not epic, but sth along those lines.. when in reality it was enjoyable (depending on your expectations). I guess it could have been a pleasure, not a guilty pleasure

Re: I Am Number Four
If you read the book (which is massively flawed but a good read) you'll see just how bad of a job they did translating the big moments from page to screen. Prime example being the reveal of Bernie Kosar at the end, in the book it was a huge moment which changed the dynamic of the battle altogether. On screen it was almost a visual gag and excuse to have 2 fights at once. If you enjoyed the film, absolutely read the book, everything is fleshed out whilst the film is a rush job.

I know only too well that the films can never do the books justice! :)

Re: I Am Number Four
I read the book the day it was out
I was also irritated they didn't quite explain in the movie why they had to be killed in order, also they only stressed on the fact that together the remaining 6 will be stronger, but never mentioned they will be more vulnerable because they don't have to be killed in order... Also Henry was supposed to die in the battle...
The book was very "basicly" written (I could have written it when I was 15) and to have the movie not live up to it story-wise says a lot about whoever wrote the script
Still, I thoroughly enjoyed it as I said many times.

Re: I Am Number Four
I watched this last night in Edinburgh and I really enjoyed it (so did my friend). To be honest, I had no expectations and I have not read the book yet. I thought it was fun to watch and the visual effects were quite good. It kind of reminded me a bit of the Twilight saga at times. In my opinion a movie rarely is as good as the book on which it is based, probably because you rely on actors to show emotions, whereas in books you actually describe them. I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys science fiction but I would also recommend going with no expectations. 7/10
