Lovely! Beautiful part of world. I love Scotland.
How stunning and totally agree with Sunny Saver. I have never camped properly (I have done overnight stays in a tent in France but everything is set up for you and went out to restaurants for dinner hence not proper) but would love to one day.

Plus I'm still struggling to get fit after a really bad virus and still can't manage a whole day's walk. But I've missed so much here...!
So sorry to hear that you have been unwell and it must have been a bad virus for someone as fit as yourself not to bounce back.

I too am just catching up on here after a wonderful week in Portugal just on my final wash then can iron in the sunshine :D
I love it when you come back with your holiday treats, got a lovely tablecloth from Portugal for my garden table plus a very pretty hand painted (the lady was painting them as we were there) fruit bowl from a day trip to Seville so I will always have a little reminder of the beautiful places that I have visited.

Hope you are soon feeling lots better, Ms Thrifty. We know it must have taken some powerful virus to keep you from your hiking/walking. Take it easy in this heat and get yourself better.

Had a great time! Thanks, all! The weekend involved plenty of beer, a fair dose of sunburn, swimming in the loch, a little hike and more barbecued meat than I care to think about!

Since tomorrow is a bank holiday weekend here, I'm off with my OH and friends to 'Viva Brazil' this evening for a good churrascaria! :D

We have goldfinches too (the secret is the Niger seeds and persevering!) and they've brought their young ones recently. They are stunning little birds!

Our new discovery: siskins ! I desperately need to b*y a spotting scope now as using our telescope would look ridiculous (being bazooka sized) as well as producing an inverted image. What else are you seeing ? We're also hosting dunnocks, woodpeckers and green finches. I wish our owls would come back to our tree... :tears:

I've never seen an owl in the wild, that would be amazing. I have a soft spot for them. Sounds like you have your own little nature reserve, how wonderful! o/

We have semi-regular visits from a family of foxes. I know they get a bad press, but they do not go rummaging through anyone's bins or attack any babies, they mainly sunbathe and stroll about. Gorgeous wee things, I'd love to play with them, but I'm not an idiot, you can't tame a wild creature and they do carry harmful germs for humans. Content to watch from a distance. :D
    Preferred cinemas:
