I read in the paper that a version of the Avatar DVD will be one of the 1st (inc Alice In Wonderland) released in 3D to be used with the 3D televisions that are being released...

However this new gen of television is so expensive overall! O_O

So I finally went to watch Avatar last night in 3D at Odeon Greenwich. What an AMAZING film, Pandora is so beautiful! I got quite 'misty' in parts, when they blow up hometree and generally destroy the Na'vi's world.

And I managed to go for free thanks to two free Odeon passes that mysteriously got mailed to me on Saturday. I must assume this was from a competition or something, I've entered so many over the last couple months I honestly can't think what it's from!
Preferred cinemas:
Weekdays: Central London (all West End), West India Quay, Greenwich O2, Vue Islington
Weekends: Greenwich (O2, Odeon, PH), Vue Stratford City, Stratford PH

I think I must be the last person in the land to have seen Avatar. Today was the last day to use one of my January competition win Odeon guest passes before it expired so I plumped to see this, this afternoon, and I wasn't disappointed.

Visually breathtaking and emotionaly engaging, I loved every single 3D minute of it - even stayed for the credits roll thingy to catch a last glimpse of the Pandorean (made up word alert!) scenery. The flying scenes were just awesome and those little floaty things in the forest that looked like hdaniels avatar pic (see post above) were fantastic.

I can't wait for the sequel.

10 out of 10 from me for this one.

Mine's some bumper pack from Play.com. They sent it earlier this week so promising...

'Avatar' to get summer re-release.

James Cameron's sci-fi blockbuster 'Avatar' will return to the big screen this summer.

'Avatar', which has now grossed nearly £2 billion, will be shown on 3D screens once more from August 27, complete with an extra eight minutes of new footage.

Cameron said, “Audiences repeatedly told me they wanted more of Pandora, and wished they could have stayed there longer. So we're making that possible. 'Avatar: Special Edition' will be exclusively in 3D, and will have eight minutes of never before seen footage, including new creatures and action scenes.

"Whether you already love the movie, or you've never seen it, with this 'Special Edition', you'll be seeing it like never before."

GOOD! That's something to cheer me up. I'll be going. o/
