Re: This Means War
Went to Glasgow Cineworld. It was full tonight but got annoyed when people were still coming in 20 minutes into the film. So for a 90 minutes film they missed 22% of it. Cos all they do is stand on the stairs in the dark trying to find seats together. If you come late expect not to sit together. SIMPLES.
Anyhoo I really enjoyed this 90 minute film. It has no depth but that's alright cos you know it won't. It is just fun and I thought the paintball scene was one of the funniest I seen in a while. I was laughing out loud in the back row. 8/10

Re: This Means War
No one else at this today?
Saw it at the immensely comfortable Apollo. Ticket man barely glanced at the tickets (he didn't unfold mine, I could have given him a blank piece of paper).
I loved this. I can see why a movie buff might pull it apart, but as a chick flick with a bit of action thrown in, it was perfect. We had a few laugh out loud moments and I confess to having developed a bit of a crush on Tom Hardy. Not usually my type. I already have a girl crush on Reese. Only downside was that in reading some of the reviews I had read one part of the ending (USE SPOILERS, PEOPLE!), but I still loved it. Cheesy, predictable and fun. I'd happily see it again.

PS just reading through older reviews before posting and see that I declared my crush a couple of weeks ago. I seemed to have forgotten. Oops!

Re: This Means War
Saw this today at the Apollo, which was agreeably comfy and ideal. It was nice, with good turns from Hardy and Chelsea Handler especially, but I'd be lying if I said this was excellent. 7/10 and review coming soon!

Re: This Means War
I was also at the Apollo tonight.
I enjoyed this. It is daft, but nevertheless, it is fun. It is not breaking any boundaries, and not the cleverest film in the world, but I have seen a lot worse rom-coms.
It had some funny moments, but it was not as hilarious as the some members of the audience seemed to think it was. The OTT laughter was a bit distracting at times.
It is predictable, cheesy, silly, but it has a few decent action scenes, a good looking cast and some touches of comedy. Not the film of the year, but easily watchable. Mindless entertainment, pure and simple.
Edit: on second thoughts, I give this 7/10!

Re: This Means War
So... I officially hate Cineworld Shaftesbury Ave. I can hear the audio & feel the base from the surrounding screens, and I had the one seat that had NO DAMN CUPHOLDER!!! Who puts seats in a cinema with no damn cupholders????
Oh yeah, the film... meh. Distinctly average, horrendous CGI & as weak an ending as you can possibly imagine. I did laugh a few times, although I honestly can't remember why.
The end!

I saw this tonight at a packed Milton Keynes, the film did not start until everyone was seated.
I enjoyed the film. Good laughs all round.

Went to see this at shaftesbury avenue too and there were quite a few empty seats. I Couldnt hear any noise from the other screening rooms or I just didn't notice, was sat near the back which was an error as they didn't switch off the spotlights near the door.
I found the film quite enjoyable, I knew it was never going to set the world alight but it exceeded my expectations. A flimsy plot, not much attention to detail but a fun premise with humourous moments.
