I've never seen an owl in the wild, that would be amazing. I have a soft spot for them. Sounds like you have your own little nature reserve, how wonderful!

We have semi-regular visits from a family of foxes. I know they get a bad press, but they do not go rummaging through anyone's bins or attack any babies, they mainly sunbathe and stroll about. Gorgeous wee things, I'd love to play with them, but I'm not an idiot, you can't tame a wild creature and they do carry harmful germs for humans. Content to watch from a distance.

Also love owls. I thought Tawnies were having a revival in London ?!? Maybe shy. I got to see a Barn owl catching something at dusk in deepest darkest Selborne and that was my best wild owl moment.

I think foxes are beautiful but they scare me to death when they howl in the night. My brain just thinks "there is a woman being murdered, go and help!!"

I also can't bear to hear the foxes and must admit I don't like meeting them on the pavement when I walk home. Twenty+ years ago we heard an owl in the vicinity (a disused warehouse which is now townhouses) but no such luck now. At the moment we see our goldfinches, great tits, blue tits, wood pigeons but during the rest of the year we've had greenfinches, siskin, robins, blackbirds, wrens etc. Not bad for a London garden. Husband is a mad keen birdwatcher so he knows them all. I've seen owls but that was in Africa -- including enormous ones -- must find out the name.

Been to Slades Farm with the dog before it gets too hot. She played really well with other dogs so came away very happy and she is asleep in her bed.

Yeah shes worth it so well behaved at only 5 months old.
