Wait, what?
Spiderman: when Beast introduces himself and his special powers, he hangs upside down and Mystic approaches him... reminded me of Spiderman's kiss scene

Wanted: Charles and the gun reminded me of James McAvoy in Wanted

Basic Instict: Emma Frost in her white outfit in the CIA interrogation room

...
but maybe it's all in my head :D
Lol. Those didnt even enter my head during those scenes. And i dare call myself a geek :Embarrassed: . But I would call those allusions or echoes at best. I don't think they were directly referencing specific material. More of just using what has worked before in a different way very well to further its own merits?

Then I saw you... I remember clearly a lady checking her phone and speaking about her amex number :D (I would probably not be able to recognize you next time though, as my brain is made of cheese!)

I finally went tonight ( I did not p*y :nono: ) and I absolutely loved it! I had a big grin on my face for the entire movie :D
I am very glad I watched the 4 previous X-Men last week, it made all the little details of this new instalment more delectable!
did anybody notice references to Spiderman, Wanted and Basic Instinct? Did you notice anything else?
9.5/10 for me o/
Oh, then you were behind me? And did you start the No Amex queue? :P
Yes, I saw the references to Spiderman and Basic Instinct as I seen those films, but not seen Wanted. Also, I thought there were a lot of similarities to Heroes, all the locating for the people with special powers. and then learning to handle their skills etc. Not seen the other X Men, except Wolverine, so really need to catch up now, as so loved this new one!

In the final battle when Mystique disguishes herself as Shaw, how does she know what he looks like at that exact time? Do they even know about the helmet at this point?

Hadn't she seen him when he attacked the secret CIA base ie when Darwin was killed and Angel switched sides?

Possibly, I don't remember if he was wearing the helmet then or not. But even so she wouldn't have known though what clothes he was wearing that day (unless he never changes)

Yes, he was wearing the helmet, as when he realised that the Professor was not there, he took the helmet off, saying he did not need that silly helmet on anymore then.
Lol....you see what I mean, it's just getting silly now with the last few pages covered with spoiler after spoiler after spoiler.
It's basically a blank thread! hence I suggested a spoiler thread without all the covering up

And I am quite liberal I am afraid in terms of my view on spoilers. Yes shut up about twist endings, surprise deaths etc, but I don't think much else should be a "spoiler"

I agree, I just want to prevent getting yelled at by people who consider everything a spoiler... Might be helpful to have proper guidelines on it?

Or indeed a spoiler thread as mentioned before :)
