Because a surprising amount of people are actually scared to death of clowns.
And don't forget Pennywise from Stephen King's "IT".
...and Krusty the clown in The Simpsons!

I actually thought it was meant to be Pennywise. I'm sure I spotted Freddy Kruger in the melee somewhere too?

This was a surprise for me, not quite sure what to make of it :shifty: witty script and damn funny in places but the slap stick started to annoy me although the story did intrigue me. Felt queasy afterwards because of all the gore and flesh slice and dice sounds but did appreciate the creativity of the whole story.

Vue Islington was pretty full tonight but there were still plenty of seats left in the lower part so I told the usher exactly what I thought of his suggestion that we all move up one seat to create 2 empty seats next to each other. I was in this row first. I chose my seat carefully. I didn't leave any empties. I will NOT move for latecomers, thank you very much. His attiude was so bad. "This is a free screening." Exactly, which means I have free choice of seats, so bugger off.

I was at Vue Islington last night and must have been sitting pretty near you Beate. I was sitting next to a jovial man who kept complaining that he was nackered rushing to get to the cinema early, so that his partner/friend could get good seats. He kept cracking me up. The dep. manager was a brave man telling 5 or 6 (?) people to get up and move down for the late-comers. But he was fighting a losing battle for sure cos I wasn't moving either!

With regards to the film, it is tongue in cheek horror. I'm a big horror fan and didn't find it scary, mostly I just found it slapstick funny and appreciated it for what it was. Not one I would watch again now that I've seen it though, but it gets a brownie point for being a little bit different. :D

What?! I was blown away. It's not easy to take a genre that's become stale and make it feel fresh again.

After seeing the trailer for this I thought the first part looked like a mix between Wrong Turn, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Cabin Fever. However, the second part of the trailer reminds of the film My Little Eye. Hopefully it's nothing like any of these as I am rather looking forward to watching this.
