Re: Les Misérables
Oh this was on in Greenwich too, oops
And here I was wondering why I didn't see any familiar faces in the audience today

Re: Les Misérables
Took my mum and dad to this. None of us had seen the play and were pleasantly surprised. We really enjoyed it and never once looked at the time. Such an amazing film and brilliant acting.

I think you're being modest as usual, Beate. Covent Garden no doubt took their lead from what was happening in Greenwich and you were most definitely in charge there.

Re: Les Misérables
Just back from Manchester Showcase, no one was asking for the paper as I saw and all got in, it was getting quite full at one point and we only found out when we came out they had opened up another screen and showed it in two screens. Great film, loved everyone in it, I have seen the stage version, but enjoyed this more, Some surprisingly good voices and comedy from Sacha Baron Cohen and even Helen Bonham Carter, I am sure they were not in it as much in the stage show, but felt the comedy they brought to it was a bonus.
Just noticed the bit about re clapping above, we got some in manchester too.

Re: Les Misérables
I have to second Ploggit as we ended up there due to my mum working later tonight ( Braehead tickets donated to good cat loving friends) and what a shemozzle. We arrived, the people in front told us we needed the page (I had one page but 3 sets of tickets) so we stayed in line as we got to the front a second queue of non page holders started so we jumped into that as they were demanding one paper page per set so if I hadn't led the charge we would have not got in. We were then told to sit at the tables not to queue as we were blocking the pick n mix to which we told the troll that we were not moving. Customer service is obviously not one of her strong points. We did get in, right down the front but as the average age of previewer was 105 there was a lot of loud commentary through the songs. My group loved it, me not so much as I'm not into musicals but it was lovely to watch. Anne Hathaway was superb, Russell did struggle I felt. so 5.5/10 for me for the Les Mis fans with me 9/10
Re: Les Misérables
My Odeon asked for both! today paper AND ID
They also turned quite a few people away at different stages Possibly id? so they got away with showing it in a relatively small screen, and it was 100% full....enjoyed the film, recognised some actors from original cast of the show and O2 anniversary concert...

Re: Les Misérables
Saw this at a very full Hatfield, we arrived at 6pm and the screen was 3/4 full already, we didn't get asked for the paper luckily.
I enjoyed the film, some amazing performances, I thought Anne Hathaway was amazing and I really liked Russel Crowe's voice as I did the girl who played Eponine. In fact it was a very talented cast, with exception to Helena Bonham Carter, not a fan of hers.
For thought it was just a bit too long and felt the end dragged a bit, it would be a while before I could sit all the way through again as it is pretty heavy going, despite some amazing performances.
